We went to try this branch last Saturday for lunch, as we are regular customers of Pesto The Yacht in Chester and now moved in Derby and thought why not try this Pesto in Derbyshire. First impression? Carnage, we waited over 10 minutes to be seated even though we have a reservation. We ordered drinks that came late I believe half an hour of waiting as they served our food first before the drinks. I ordered my favourite Pasta with prawns and chili/olive oil wrap with parchment paper and tomato with mozzarella for appetizer and my partner ordered carbonara, arroncini and Caesar salad. My pasta came surprisingly and shockingly soupy and the prawns was over cooked. My partner told me to return it and asked for another one but as I can see how busy and packed the restaurant I didn’t bother to ask and complain about it. My tomato in mozzarella was soggy and really soft and again I didn’t bother to ask for replacement. I have to ask for salt and pepper only as the main meal was bland. My partner’s Carbonara was bland too so he asked for cheese to make it tasty at least. My partner had to walk to the bar to asked for 2 glasses of water and he came back with shocked on his face as he shown me that one of the water had a dead mosquito stuck to the side. Again we didn’t bother to complain and just share the other glass of water. We had a high expectations with our visit since the one in Chester are always on point and delivering consistent good food and service. I understand that sometimes places can be very busy but it doesn’t mean you compromise your food quality...

A Pesto Paradise: A 5-Star Review of Pesto at The Peacock

If you're seeking an Italian culinary experience that transcends expectations, look no further than Pesto at The Peacock. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was enveloped in a warm, inviting atmosphere that perfectly complemented the delectable dishes that awaited.

The menu at Pesto at The Peacock offers a wide range of Italian delicacies to satisfy every palate. The pizzas were perfectly cooked, with a crisp crust and a generous topping of high-quality ingredients. The fish dishes were equally impressive, the meatballs are to die for, the beef stew was amazing. And let's not forget the deserts the trio of deserts and the tiramisu were amazing.

The service at Pesto at The Peacock was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to provide recommendations. They created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, making me feel like a valued guest. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the dining experience, from the presentation of the dishes to the timely service.

In conclusion, Pesto at The Peacock is a must-visit for anyone seeking authentic Italian cuisine. The menu is impressive. The welcoming atmosphere and impeccable service make it a truly memorable dining experience. If you're looking for a place to savour delicious food and create lasting memories, Pesto at The Peacock is the...

New place we tried out, passed it a few times when heading to Matlock. We went In, staff were amazing and we was sat down promptly. Out order was taken by A nice waiter called David "I think" . The confusion is because we was served, drinks, food and plates taken away by 3 different people. The food was good. The shell pasta was by far the star of the show. It tasted like authentic Italian food!!!! 9/10. I did try the mushroom crêpe out of curiosity. It was as expected, slimy mushrooms sliding out the sides. It was in a bath of olive oil and cheese. Nicely seasoned, just wasn't the one for me . Also had a few other dishes. They were all nice, not amazing. Second place would have been the pizza. Meatballs were a little over seasoned tbh. I did enjoy the food. Don't get me wrong. When we ordered and the food was out within 10 mins, I knew it was a reheat job. So I straight away bared that in mind before I ate. I've been to alot of Italian restaurants and this was the only Italian restaurant that didn't appear to have an Italian person from an older generation out in the restaurant or bar. I would go back, great staff, great place. Maybe we just went during a quiet time. Next time I just know what to order .

7.5/10 over all , I feel if I go back that score...
