Coors for concern.
After reading other reviews, we ventured to this pub whilst on a weekend escape, hoping for a cozy pint. Never felt so unwelcome, it felt like we were gate crashing as one local suggested to the landlord that they should've locked the door. We brushed it off, ordered a Coors, which tasted like cider. Politely mentioned it to the landlord, who took two gulps, slammed it down, and declared it fine, polling the rest of the bar for backup. I was offered a Budweiser to replace said Coorsâalso cider? Landlord deemed it necessary to ask if I had brushed my teeth as there's clearly something wrong with mine and my partners taste. He then vowed to drink the pint himself (gross). Not arguing with that, it appeared he was a few pints deep already. We then headed to the Peacock up the road, where proper pints and cheery service saved the night. If youâre up for an argument with your beer, this place is your spotâjust donât expect clean lines or a warm welcome. Not sure if we caught the place on a bad day, I only wish they did bolt the door before...

The pies served to each of us were all different and everyone agreed that all were excellent, I agreed to treat everyone so I was amazed how inexpensive they were. The landlord was a real character, and the pub full of old charm. Cannot praise the entire experience highly enough. I will return even though I live...
