Perfect for drinks in the sun, avoid the food. We found that everything is actually quite reasonably priced however the quality of the food and the cleanliness is quite shocking. The cutlery was very dirty and when our plates were brought out there was a lot of black marks on them, to be honest it looks like grease. I did think it may just be integrated into the plate but found out it does actually wipe away so I have no idea what it is, either way it’s not something you want in your food. I had the steak burger, the steak is one of the toughest to chew through steaks I have literally ever had in my life and the burger meat tasted like the poorest quality beef they could find. Unfortunately because it was busy the staff were rushed off their feet so they didn’t seem to care. I will say though, the peppercorn sauce is the best I have ever had though it does taste exactly like the one you can buy in ASDA. The cocktails were quite cheap and they were lovely, I absolutely recommend if you want a nice drink in the sun. Beer prices are competitive and there’s lots of variety which is nice. Other than that, it’s probably best to avoid.

We had a cracking meal at the Fox & Crown and couldn’t fault a thing. Kicked things off with the sharer platter, which came loaded with boneless chicken wings – crispy outside, tender inside – and halloumi fries that were hands down the best we’ve had. And that’s saying something, because I’ve been around the block when it comes to fried cheese. The fish and chips were proper pub-style – light, crisp batter and thick-cut chips done right. The steak and ale pie was full of rich, slow-cooked filling with golden pastry that held its own. And the steak flatbread? Big win – juicy steak, warm flatbread, great flavours all round. Great service, cosy setting, and portions that leave you satisfied but still thinking about pudding. Will definitely be back for round two.

Ok, so we were looking for somewhere where we could bring our new dog with us, to be fair the dog probably enjoyed it more than I did, it's been a while since I've been in here and I must say it has gone downhill, don't get me wrong the staff were fine but the pub looks uncared for, as for the food I would say pretty average although I felt a bit cheated as I ordered the steak scampi and chicken, which I think was nearly £12, the scampi wasn't cooked properly, and to be fair the rest of the food wasn't that good either but we had waited nearly 45 minutes for the food and the kids were starving and finished the rest of my plate as the state of the scampi put me off the rest of the dish, My partner didn't want me to make a fuss so we just finished and left.

I visited on the 1st Bank holiday in May. It was a lovely sunny day & many people sat outside. I had been sat there for about Half an hour enjoying my drink when a football team arrived ( black shirts red band across middle.). They ordered their food etc all was well. Several minutes passed , people enjoying their time at the pub. There was a young lady patting & making a fuss of a dog doing nothing wrong anyway 1 particular member of the football team ( He wasn't a player too old maybe their coach ) started making inappropriate comments about the young lady I overheard him say several wrong remarks. I noted what he had said & thought there is a time & a place for such behaviour not at a family pub. I decided to have another drink & order food. My order came out from the pub but never actually got to my table . By this time football team were (well 1 inparticular ) was getting more louder & started to shout at the waitress with the food to " come over here with it" to put down " on the table they were sat at. I couldn't believe it when she actually did put the food down shrugged her shoulders & walked off but at the same moment Big mouth & a few others where saying " it's not ours only joking" A barmaid came out glass collecting asking what the problem was they said what had happened " not their food" . Anyway I said I'd ordered food to the barmaid & wondered if that was my order as it was the same thing but by this time I was rather annoyed because of rowdy behaviour. So I wasn't accepting it because it had already been placed on the table in front of the football team & I couldn't have been 100% sure if it hadn't been touched so I made a comment to the barmaid that I hoped it was fresh when the order came back out & she agreed they would do the food again . By this time I was getting fed up with mouthy man & actually called him a " Big mouth " who at first thought I was joking until I repeated the remark again then he realised I wasn't the football team chipped in with " well why didn't you say something " about the food but to me that wasn't the point I was making. An hour or so had passed by & eventually the food came back out, football team still there & making comments , Mouthy Man cheered & " are you happy now" & " I bet you've never been happy in your life" the barmaid apologised for the delay etc & made the kind gesture of giving the money back which I accepted but I couldn't eat much of the food because of the horrible atmosphere. Decided to leave not long after & had to pass Mouthy Man to get to the exit by this time I had , had enough & made my own comment to him ( I called him a knob ) but being rather Mouthy he retorted " why do you want to see one " Absolutely disgusted I walked off. I have not been back since & have absolutely no plans in the...

Very disappointed. Visited here for our Works Christmas Meal. On arrival, we sat for ages and eventually had to ask someone to come over to order drinks. The atmosphere wasn't great, football was playing on loads of televisions throughout the Pub. I asked if some could be switched off and if some Christmas Music could be played. This was refused as its a "Sports Pub". If somewhere is providing a Christmas Menu and taking group bookings, surely it's appropriate to use sections of the Pub just for Christmas Bookings and then have football playing in other sections. It wasn't festive at all. The Starter was okay, although it did take a while to arrive. We then waited a while for the main. Two Vegetarian Options were served and then the Meat Christmas Dinners. Three of us were served Beef when it was supposed to be Turkey with all the trimmings. We asked why we had been served Beef and was informed they didn't have any Turkey. We were then given a choice of Chicken or Beef and the meals were taken a away. We then waited a while to have a replacement which left our group of five not eating together. When the replacements arrived, half a Chicken on the bone had been dumped on the plate. This should have been sliced or just a breast. It was awful. The sausages had no bacon around them, I'm assuming these were supposed to be pigs in blankets, the parsnips were rock solid and there was no cranberry sauce. Then under the Chicken, was a slice of Beef from before. They didn't even remake the meal. We were given free drinks and a discount off the bill but this doesn't make up for everything experienced. There's alot that needs improving. We won't...

The worst experience ever. We got a beer & sat down looking at the menu, my wife decided to have Scampi, I was looking at the Fish & Chips, then noticed they did a Fish & Chips with Scampi, so i decided on having that. Went to order, we could have the fish & chips, we could have the Scampi, but not the fish with Scampi.???? Confused, I asked why not, the lassie behind the bar said 'staffing problems' a couple of seconds thinking about this, I said what has it got to do with staffing problems, it just does not make sense. I asked her if the food was brought in ready plated, she said no. I said, we can have the fish & chips , we can have the Scampi, but not the Fish & Scampi, Now I was begining to get a bit frustrated. She said would you like to see the Manager, she looked a bit gone out when I said 'yes please'. The Manager came, went through the same thing, he starting to look a bit embarassed, and looking a bit flushed, new he was't going to win this one, he started walking away and nastily said, come & make it yourself if you want it. Conclusion:- Very rude. & we were lied to. Why couldn't he tell the truth, that that plated meal was not available, I could have accepted that, & picked another meal. We drank up & left. I hate bulls - - - & lies. Sorry Fox & Crown, your...
