I called to book a reservation for Sunday lunch. I was informed that a deposit was now necessary for each person by a polite lady She said there were a lot of last minute cancellations due to Covid. I can understand their point. However the lady did say if the cancellation was last minute it would not be refunded. I asked to pay the deposit on the phone by card. She said they did not have this facility. I would have to do bank transfer or come in person to pay. I tried to do the bank transfer . It would not verify the business details .I called my bank to be told the same, and if I made the payment it is at my own risk and not advised. So I rushed into footprints on my lunch hour to pay. As I was explaining to the polite lady I had spoken to on the phone about the problem with the bank transfer and how difficult it had been for me to try and pay the deposit they required . A man rudely interupted and gatecrashed our conversation and said he was the General manager he made the rule about paying a deposit and it was not going to change. He said he was happy to sit down and talk to me about it. But as I was replying to say I was not asking him to change this but explaining to the polite colleague what happened trying to pay on line and asking why their business not verify to ensure a safe payment. This extremely rude manager cut me dead! Walked off and sat at a table talking to a customer! Absolutely shocking rude customer service ! Customers pay...
Read moreHaving posted a review, some what a while ago I felt another review during these difficult times, would be good for those who may be hesitant about venturing out. Out walking with my sister and our dogs, we set out to visit Footprints again. We were in need of refreshments and seemed an ideal place after our walk. Plenty of seating outside, with or without umbrells. Menu on windows and as the norm, social distancing and mask wearing adhered to. Order at the counter then find your seat. Food brought our promptly and good as usual. Drinks come in paper cups, which we are now use to. The veranda was busy, and the tables safely distenced, making it a enjoyable sit down in the sun. So you can soak up the sun in a comfortable covid safe way. Thanks footprint, enjoyable...
Read moreI'd give this more stars if the staff were friendlier. Fabulous little place hidden away that has all manner of events going on such as a knitting club, bring your broken electrical items for repair and an education centre for children. The cafe offers a varied menu including a cooked breakfast and fabulous baguettes as well as full meals. The cooked food is great, the cakes are a bit hit and miss (we had an awesome crumble cake a while ago, but a dry and disappointing coffee and walnut cake). Prices are fair, if you walk there it is a great resting spot before moving on. Dogs are not allowed inside, but you can sit outside with them in the summer. On Sunday's they don't do breakfast, only...
