I was part of a celebration party on Sunday 23rd August,..it was Christine's florists 50th year of opening!! So,..apprehensive I accepted, knowing the new pandemic rules etc,and not being anywhere since the beginning of the year ,except work.. The part they separated for us was at the end part,..away from other eaters,.. The toilets were a walk away,..and outside the smokers could freely have a fab,..separate benches spaced away for social distancing rules,..telephone number of the bar at the table,as to not walk about. The meal itself was wonderful, all delivered with nicely ,safe masked up servers. The whole party was safe,..on 3 tables of 6 On a whole,it's a shame the pandemic happened..but don't let fear keep you away from the places you love. The staff are working tirelessly to keep us all safe..the only danger is other people, and at the George, were nicely spaced apart. Out of ten,..I'd give it a whole hearted 10. A lovely afternoon at a lovely place.... Well Done staff,...I hope you get good feedback,..a great afternoon had by all of...
Read moreWe come here every Thursday for our regular quiz night. And it never fails to be a massive treat!! Parking is well supplied and its easily found just off the main road.
Facilities are lovely and clean and very well maintained.
The bar is brilliantly stocked with various spirits as well as different ales on the tap or bottled and it has a good selection of lager too.
The food is out of this world. Their specials are always a mixed bag of delicious flavours and mixtures. I adore their chefs desserts and how much it changes. The flavours are phenomenal and always cooked to perfection! It's really the highlight of our week.
It's family run and they are all just so lovely and welcoming, and have been since we started coming regularly a short while ago. We dont live in Hintlesham but we love to come here for everything it has to offer at extremely reasonable prices, especially considering the food portion sizes...
Read moreArrived 5.30 on Sunday, vast empty dining room, no atmosphere like eating in a cafe but I thought I'd still give the food ago. No roasts left, just chicken, no pies left (apparently popular), no lamb shanks left. We opted from the limited menu, mushroom stroganoff and a chicken roast. The roast arrived, less than average, frozen veg and Yorkshire puds small portion, mushroom stroganoff was dreadful, tasteless and that's being polite!! Pudding menu arrived, out of three choices, when we questioned this waitress (I think owner) shrugged her shoulders and said "well we've been busy"! Needless to say we left without pudding, if they were as dreadful as the mains we saved a tenner.... Never again, u friendly soulless place with sub standard food (trying not to be rude) We eat out an awful lot in the Woodbridge / Ipswich area which is why I feel qualified to give...
