The Jet Lounge is a great little eatery towards one end of the beautiful Hadleigh High Street. As you may have guessed, there is an air travel theme to this restaurant which matches surprisingly well with the charming period building it occupies. This is because the renovations are tastefully done and care has been taken to ensure the original features of the lovely timbered interior are protected, preserved and presented well to make a good marriage of the old and new. The menu is contemporary and continues the aeronautical theme. The food is equally well thought out and of a good standard. You are served with the type of friendly courtesy and care you would receive on a quality airline. We enjoyed tasty fishcakes meal and a baked Camembert followed by tea and a selection of the fresh pastries available. Wonderful free paring in Hadleigh helps access and sometimes there is the space in the street you can park. We were lucky and walked in on a Saturday to sit at a window table. However, the dining area is of a cosy size so sometimes it can be fully occupied,, therefore booking first will avoid disappointment. I believe the kitchen closes before before the premises do so plan to eat by mid-afternoon.
I'm looking forward to visiting there in the Autumn and Winter to see what the 'vibe' is like. I'm betting it...
Read moreHaving not been for a while, we decided to go for lunch yesterday.
Greeted on arrival by staff and taken to our table. There was a strong smell of cooking/grease which was heavy in the air. No real air circulation in the restaurant and this effected the dining experience.
Order taken. Bottle of beer (330cl) was ÂŁ5 which appeared quite expensive. Having eaten in Hadleigh during the week and paid ÂŁ4.80 for a pint, this is clearly where markups are being made by Jet Lounge.
Upgraded to wedges for ÂŁ2.50 and got 8 small wedges which I felt didnât reflect value for money.
Wifeâs jacket potato had been cooked in the microwave. It wasnât obviously baked and it didnât include any butter. ÂŁ11.95 for a potato cooked in a microwave and then some salad, bacon and Brie seems excessive, in my mind.
No-one asked whether our meal was ok or if we wanted anymore drinks after our food was given to us. We finished our food, paid and left. Staff were more keen to discuss their team building day out.
As purse strings are tightened, some good customer service would be appreciated when going out for a lunch or dinner!
We are keen to support local business but wonât be visiting Jet...
Read moreMy wife and I called into The Jet Lounge in Hadleigh High Street for âelevensesâ this morning. We were immediately welcomed to this cosy and interesting place. It has a rustic appeal and is interesting due to the airline theme and paraphernalia.
We ordered cappuccino coffees (table service), the coffee was very good and I particularly liked the aircraft shaped chocolate dusting on the top. We were looking at the bar area and just below the âCrew Onlyâ sign, were some lovely looking scones. So two scones with clotted cream and jam were ordered. This got the better of my wife who was beaten by the challenge, and I probably should have left some of mine but this became lunch.
The service was superb, warm and friendly. The place has a lovely atmosphere, and was very clean. I took some photos when other customers had left or at different angles so as not annoy anyone.
The Jet Lounge is now on my list of places to visit again, and I am very pleased we called in to...
