Visited today for an afternoon tea, and we both thought how very good it was, excellent would definitely recommend and the staff excellent as always.

Visited the venue again on Sunday 21st August and yet again can't fault the staff or service or the venue BUT PLEASE TRY TO SORT THE CLIENTEL as yet again the same person that I wrote about in the last review was back again with the dog and completely of her head due to drink and on this occasion ended up on the floor partially unconscious, surely you should deal with this before it gets that bad as we were with friends and really did not come over as very professional and surely you must see that this would put off other visitors and also us from revisiting considering myself and other members of my family visit regularly.

Very pleasant surroundings, and very nice staff, not a massive menu but small and good is best, excellent breakfast, worth a visit.

Visited again last night and we have used a lot in the past as one of our favourite venues and once again cannot fault the food or service, excellent BUT was not impressed with the certain table that decided it was okay to allow their dog to roam freely around the restaurant under people's Tables while they were eating, dancing around the tables with a child while attached to the dog lead being very loud and very aggravating Not what I would expect in this kind of venue. Obviously drink played a big part but this should have been stopped and they should have been asked to leave If you are going to allow dogs they should be kept under control and also...

Nice place to go and sit down for a chat Wouldn't recommend the food - price and portion not worth it.

Ordered a haddock and mash and it was more mash than haddock with some sort of mayo sauce all over the dish.. Couldn't even taste the little piece of fish I did have because of it.

Couldn't finish my (£13!) meal as it felt heavy due to the amount of potato on my plate..

My partner ordered some scampi wish was around the same price if not more which he also found disappointing. To pay so much for just 6 pieces of scampi which was tasteless and mostly batter.

The desserts weren't the best either.. Ordered an elton mess which I make a lot at home and its unbeliable how tasteless the restaurant made it.. Barely any strawberries and strawberry sauce.. Mostly tasteless thick heavy cream. The brownie my partner ordered wasn't the greatest either.. Such a shame as the place looks very lovely. It was nice seeing the painting on the wall and that it was possible to purchase them. Very nice touch!

We had to ask twice for cutlery and the wait to be served took ages considering how empty the place was. However:

A number of us have been going for months, mostly on a Tuesday and Sundays when we could. We always enjoyed ourselves and the staff were always very friendly. We became such regulars that we booked a table each week and did not have to give the name as the staff knew without asking and did not need to ask what we were having. So disappointed today when we all turned up to be handed a new menu. As we have health issues we always had the jacket potatoes and just looking around the restaurant you could see how popular they were. These have been taken off the menu and have not been replaced with anything we could have forcing us to leave. This is more of a thank you to the staff as over the months they have always been so nice and we are going to miss them. We so enjoyed our Tuesday lunchtimes.
