McDonald's — Restaurant in Basildon

Incredibly disappointed. I have placed a big order for my daughter's birthday party. My husband collected the food, got to the venue and surprise: 4 items were missing. So some of our guests did not get their food. Imagine... they were kids. I had to leave the party, drive to the restaurant and ask them to give me the food was missing. Was worth around £22. Shocked to find out that they rejected what I said, saying that they put 9 drinks and fries in the bag. When I asked about the sandwiches and strips, they told me to bring the bags back to them so they can check.. Obviously when my husband brought the food I started to give it to the kids. I have invited the manager to come with me at my daughter's party and look through the rubbish, if she needs to see with her own eyes. They continued to say that they have added all the food in the bag.. I had to ask them to check the CCTV, which apparently they did.. Took literally 4 min to come back and say they checked and everything was OK. They did not even asked my order number or the time the order was collected. I had a really bad argument there, on my money, having to leave the kids at the party and with a massive headache. Is not like I tried to cheat them for some sandwichs. Was my daughter's birthday, I would preferred to be there with the guests, not spending 30 min in McDonald's arguing for the items that I paid. I had to reorder the items that were missing and paid extra £22, as I couldn't go back to the party with empty hands. Not to mention this is not the first time when items are missing. Even if I collect or is being delivered. Please check your food before leaving the shop. I know we should have checked it, however there were 4 bags of food and we didn't want to touch all the fries and sandwiches, avoiding any contact. You do not deserve not even 1 star. Shame to the managers who believed that I went there to claim for items that I didn't pay. Not everyone is looking for stealing...

Four of us, two adults, two children, ordered at the screens, took a number for the table and sat down to wait... We were chatting and didn't realise at first how long we had been waiting. When we checked the receipt we'd been sitting down for twenty minutes. It was another five minutes before our food came out and when we went to start eating, the food was cold.

A member of staff attending to cleaning tables and trays overheard us saying the food was cold and was extremely apologetic. She took our tray of food to be replaced but didn't take the receipt when I pointed out we'd customised our food.

We waited again, she apologised again, brought us fries and offered free mcflurries to compensate.

When the food turned up again, it obviously didn't match what we'd ordered but by now we were hungry and just wanted to eat. The food was cold again. The member of staff apologised again and also let us know the ice cream machine was broken so no mcflurries but offered cookies.

Would have rated 1 star if not for the efforts of the concerned member of staff.

The death of all of these restaurants will be the just eat/deliveroo etc orders just overwhelming the staff when customers are at the restaurant. They just can't cope or keep up.

Won't ever visit this branch again as it's not the first time...

Very racist staffs and manger here. If you are not native English speaker , then be careful and be aware of their attitudes against you. Lack of training and lack of caring , their manager ( Kate) had given the reason : ‘ they are just kids ‘ . Oh ? What an answer! I was shocked by her comments. If you recruiting kids working here , then providing essential training at least ! We had been kept waiting for our £11 order in the car park ( not a big order ), but watching all other following customers after us had been served with their food passed to them immediately. After we had waited more than 5 minutes, I walked to them and tried to talk to them and ask for a reason. You can watch them laughing and looking down the customer not speaking good English. Soon I had been labeled by them as a rude customer because I had just complained about their unfair treatment on us and tried to tell the manger which girl was laughing at us and which girl was telling us incorrect...
