Basildon Turkish Grill — Restaurant in Basildon

We popped in this new kebab restaurant on Sunday just to get a menu, we were very impressed by the look of the food being cooked that we decided to back in an hour and have a meal, we were greeted by very friendly, pleasant and polite staff and shown to a table. Now ive have been looking for a certain type of Halep/Iskender kebab for over 15 years in Basildon, but this type of dish i can only find in London where i come from, no one else around Basildon does it like this, so i thought i would give this mans dish a try, not holding much hopes out that it would be the same as i get in London, to my surprise it was done perfectly, finally a Iskender made properly with the most perfect sauce ive ever had, in fact better than the London ones ive had all my life, i got talking to very nice owner who explained that he had worked in his kebab shop in Dalston, London for 20 years previous to this and that's where he had done all his training, once he mentioned his original shop i immediately knew where it was, he went on to tell us he also has a restaurant in Brentwood so we'll be going there soon too, My misses had a Lamb shish and chicken shish combination which came with couscous, rice, salad, before the meals were served he loaded our table with Turkish bread, chilli sauce dip, hummus, garlic mayo & Cacik dip, all of the food was cooked to perfection, the salad was fresh and crisp, and at the end of the meal they offered us a Turkish tea each, the service was fantastic, and the best part of all was the price, it was very cheap for the top quality of food we were presented with, the food presentation was excellent too, i cant speak highly enough for this small restaurant and the family that run it, we will be going regularly from now onwards and ill be taking the rest of my family too and wont be eating Turkish food anywhere else again, this is 100% our go to Turkish food place from now on, i wish i had taken more photo's of the food to show you all but please see the 3 i have attached - 10/10 for everything, Thank you Basildon...

I had an absolutely amazing experience at Basildon Turkish Grill! From the moment the food arrived, I knew I was in for a treat. The mixed grill platter was a feast for the senses—perfectly grilled chicken, juicy lamb, and tender kebabs, all bursting with authentic flavor and expertly seasoned. The portions were incredibly generous, and everything was fresh and cooked to perfection.

The side dishes were just as impressive—creamy hummus, rich garlic sauce, and a fresh, crisp salad that balanced the richness of the meat beautifully. The warm, fluffy bread was the perfect companion to soak up every last bit of deliciousness. Even the sauces were full of depth and flavor, especially the spicy one that added an extra kick!

To top it off, the service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere on the terrace made for a relaxing, enjoyable lunch. I can confidently say this was one of the best Turkish meals I’ve had in the UK. Highly recommended, and I will definitely be coming...
