The Oak — Restaurant in Basingstoke and Deane

Absolutely discussing pub, I originally posted to say this was good since new management, however I have returned home at 10:30pm due to the owner/or manager.

so having a good night at karaoke, let's first start by saying I run a business as an entertainer, and have been reccomended to this venue due to new management, however, what I can say is that there is a very poor attitude by this management and I even asked for my details back as I would never do business with a person like this.

I have come in here on my night off, I repeat a night off, to come and have some fun, I had one drink, I sang 2 songs, my review is at 22:52 and my writing is very clear before the excused of he is drunk.

I went in here on my night off with my partner to have fun, a night off after a month completely full of work, and the Manager discusses with my partner that I'm no longer aloud to sing due to bringing down the mood, I had 4 - 5 customers stop me and say I was amazing and talk to me, some customers even knew me. After this I decided to discuss with the owner/manager and had an awful customer experience, I review experiences on here regularly but this was awful, the manager even tho I said why not talk to me...... Why not say I'm bringing down the vibe to my face and I'll sing a more up beat song..... Why not talk to me before saying I'm telling the DJ I'm no longer aloud to sing on my night off.

she did not give a care in the slightest.... Her responce was I can say what I want.... You can say what you want but you need to learn some customer services or your pub will die like so many others in basingstoke. You can't tell a customer they are not aloud to sing regardless of if they are...

Local knocking shop reputation a few years back and not changed. Typical estate pub, looks horrible from outside although inside a bit better, does not look inviting as full of smokers at the door which makes it smell, found it difficult to get in the entrance.me and my sister visited here a few weeks ago for a quiet drink and some strange old bloke would not leave my sister alone, he was drunk and would not take no for an answer. We left as felt unsafe, manager too busy to notice the unwanted attention. Place is a dive full of weird letchy old men who think its ok to swear etc and the bar staff are rude and seemed a bit vacant, too busy laughing and flirting with the men OK if you are a local then you are treated ok but if not from the area its a scary place sorry wont ever return and will advise all women that this is a pub for men and...

Due to the lockdown it has been a long time since I've had a big roast dinner and a pint, as soon as I saw that The Oak had started delivering I thought I'd give it a go. Surprised with how big the meal was, very tasty, we had three meals, beef, roast belly pork and chicken, there was plenty of veg and roast potatoes, a giant yorkshire and pot of gravy.
