Chineham Park Splash Pad — Attraction in Basingstoke and Deane

Firstly this is I Popley off Shakespeare road. It is a small splash pad with a few benches and a small grass area. Next to it is a park with all the usual items and a large grass area. It's small and busy during the summer months and popular with families, there is a small parking area with hard standing and a over flow car park that's badly designed (grass) that can fit a few more cars.

The splash pad it's self consists of few things and isn't really a splash pad like other areas have. There are two poles, and five fountain which are on the small size. There is no pool. Or wet patch but the children like to run around. The system has a delay, so it can go off for 20-30 minutes which leaves children disappointed.

It is clean and there is one toilet, which is a portopotty. That's clean and didn't stink. Which is good.

The combination of the inadequate splash pad is a little off set with the play area next to it as you can split your time and entertainment can be an hour 1/2.

Good idea not well executed by the local authority. Often we will spilt the splash pad with eastrop park as this has a paddling pool boating area and ice-cream sales. There is nothing at...

I spent the day here, it was very dirty due to a family having a children's birthday party, which is perfectly ok, but did not clean up after themselves, empty alcohol cans, old food,and burnt out disposable Bbqs, just left scattered every where. And multiple bags of rubbish tied to the railings, this isn't acceptable when bins have been provided. We also witnessed 2 young girls fighting 1 boy, shouting and being very aggressive in front of small children trying to enjoy there day, this was made worse by there parents watching and did nothing. Spent day at splash park with small grandchildren yesterday. Fantastic time had by 1 and 4 year old in the water. Picnic lunch in the wonderful park. How nice to be able to spend a great day out with children and not pay vast amounts of money. Noticed the splash park is in need of attention as parts that are in the shade are needing cleaning as children running can slip. Perhaps a good scrub with safe product when closed.
