We had a delightful experience at the Eyre Arms. We turned up early without a lunchtime booking on Valentine's Day and easily got a table in the light and spacious extension area, overlooking a pretty garden.

The lunchtime menu didn't include the evening's specials, but it was still very good.

Chef was very accommodating regarding special requests - I had gammon, fried egg, boiled potatoes and salad. The gammon was cooked fat-free as requested, with fat removed. The salad looked small, but it was very generous once I'd deconstructed it. One of the nice meals I've had whilst avoiding fats.

The steak pie was PACKED with chunks of meat, with a gorgeous pastry, viny chips and peas, but also, with a large portion of homemade gravy in a separate gravy boat. I was SO tempted to stab my fork in and steal a chunk of meat, but sadly, I resisted. It honestly looked and smelled delicious; I'm assured it tasted it too!

Drinks were pints of cold drinks, all good.

Friendly service. Delicious food. Welcoming. What's...

I went to the Eyre arms in Rampton last week and surprisingly disappointed with the service. My wife, her parents and i were waiting to be showed our table and were left waiting for almost ten minutes, when we finally was seated we were left waiting yet again. The waitresses were very friendly but even at the busiest of times non off the bar staff helped. We’ve been for sunday dinner before and the portions were embarrassing bad for the prices. It was a lovely place and but i would not recommend. One man in particular was rude to us when we complained about the air conditioning and the chef doesn’t take criticism very...

If i could put less than one star I would do. The food was far too overpriced, we went out for a family meal and we thought we would try the pub again after having a bad meal 5 months ago. We had heard it had changed hands, the chef cooks to how he wants it, blood was running out of the meat and he said that was how it should be cooked. When we complained and asked to speak to the chef the waitress walked away tutting, the chef came out and had an appalling attitude, no apologies. You get a little for a lot of money, we shall not be...

A lovely welcome, great decor and attention to detail! Lunch menu, fantastic, had the roast of the day, delicious fresh veg, all cooked to perfection followed by cherry cheesecake. Portion size was ample (much larger than I normally eat), but I had to finish both dishes. Hubby had fish, chips and peas, blackberry n apple crumble to follow. Five star in every respect. Booked for a celebratory meal with friends, in a few days. Looking forward to regular visits now we've discovered the Eyre Arms!! Recommended!!
