We was seated at our table after being told we should of waited outside in the rain to be welcomed in before a hello. Ordered a coffee and browsed the menu, we were approached twice in a short amount of time to order food even tho it was very apparent we were looking at the menu, so on the third visit I picked something off the menu before knowing all the options as I didn't want say we wasn't ready a third time. I had mushrooms on toast, in a nutshell they were literally swimming in oil, it turned my stomach, I couldn't eat them. We went to pay at the counter, to where we were now asked if everything was ok with our meal. I told the woman the mushrooms were very greasy and I couldn't eat it.

Her response? "Oh bless you" (absolutely astonishing reposone, why ask?)

I asked if the feedback would be passed onto the chef as I was left confused about the situation. She did say it would be passed onto the chef and that unfortunately the chef can not accommodate to everyone's tastes!? This insinuates the food was fine and it was me, last time I checked nobody likes their food dripping in oil. What a defensive response!

Anyway.. top tip!

Train the staff to have a clear structure to what happens when a customer isn't happy with the food they have purchased.

Even better... Do a curtsy check while we are eating and this could have resolved the situation there and then and meant you'd of had our returning custom.

Shame really as I visit weekly for my...

My husband and I came on the 6th of December with four friends to have a Festive Afternoon Tea. We were very disappointed for the following reasons:- We were required to pay extra for cappuccinos or lattes. We asked for extra hot water and it arrived in a small jug only sufficient for two of our party. My jug of milk was dirty. A second requested jug of hot water didn’t arrive for some time. Teapots were stained on the outside. Apart from mince pies there was an absence of festive atmosphere...no decorations, no tablecloths and other diners were eating food which we could smell and the room was cold. The price did not represent good value for money.

As a group we are accustomed to enjoying afternoon tea but the most disappointing thing for us was that when we mentioned all of the above to a member of staff, after apologising, she took the phone number of the person who booked the meal and assured us that we would receive a phone call from someone in authority. This has not happened despite 11 days having passed.

I’m sure you appreciate feedback and can use it to improve your service. I look forward to your...

We called here as a shot in the dark when on our way back from our visit to centerparcs Sherwood. All I can say is that this was the highlight of our entire week away. The food is exceptional, you can tell that hours of hard work went into crafting these recipes. The food was exceptional but what was even more outstanding was the service provided by their staff. I can honestly say we have never ever had such a friendly and accommodating group of staff. we were treated as if we were the only guests present and both the chef and manager took the time to speak to us and talk us through the ways in which the recipes were perfected using only the best of ingredients. it is clear to see the passion that they both had for their craft and was evident in the amazing quality of the food that was served. This was by far the highlight of our holiday and we will most definitely be visiting this place again as a destination in its self instead of a stop on the way home. These guys deserve more stars...

I really wanted to like this Café, but sadly too many little things were not good. Had an English Breakfast which at £12 was ok pricewise and the descriptions of the items set big expectations (local meat, homemade black pudding, freshly made bread etc). The sausages lacked any flavour and needed more seasoning, the bacon was overcooked, the toast, whilst lovely and fresh bread, was too thickly sliced for breakfast toast, even the fresh local eggs which were a lovely orange colour seemed to lack flavour. I appreciate that my comments are subjective but both my wife and I thought the same so it wasn't just me. Shame really as staff lovely, and in a great setting. Maybe next time I'll give the breakfast a miss and try something else, but sadly I really wouldn't recommend the Full English. Sorry.

I popped along to the Harley Café with my mum. We were noticed and greeted promptly by a waitress who then allowed us to look at the menu board first as we wasn’t too sure on what we wanted to do at that moment. The waitress/front of house Rachel was so lovely and said she would give us a minute and seat us if that’s what we wanted. We were greeted, served initially and through our entire time at the cafe with a smile! The care and compassion we witnessed from Rachel and the other waitresses to customers was second to none! The waitresses and the food here is an experience as a whole! It started our day so positively and we genuinely were so happy with the service we received! Everyone was so pleasant & you all do an amazing job! Thank you to Rachel and the team!

Great cafe, friendly and helpful staff. A couple of friends and myself were out cycling yesterday stopped to get a drink and bite to eat. With it being a lovely weekend day and around lunchtime they were obviously busy but they said they'd try and squeeze us in. Very quickly they'd sorted out a table, which was thoroughly cleaned. The staff were friendly, chatting to us asking how far we had cycled. We ordered great coffees to start with and then delicious lunches. We asked for some water for our bottles and they brought out 3 big jugs so we could fill our water bottles. Can't fault the service, the food or friendliness of the staff. Will definitely be going again 😀
