McDonald's — Restaurant in Bassetlaw

My wife and I were looking for somewhere to eat as we were both hungry. This was the first place we came to that was open. We walked in and couldn't use the ordering screen things as we only had cash with us. So we went and stood at the counter. Then we stood at the counter a bit longer. Then longer again. The young lad who was making the drinks was shouting into the back. " can somebody come and serve please?" A young girl came out looked around and promptly went away again without a word to continue leaning on the frier. Then a young bloke returned who had been stood about when we walked in I'm presuming he was some sort of management because he was wearing a grey Button up shirt. He completely blanked us and stood with his hands in his pockets. Until the guy making the drinks asked him to serve us. When I mentioned the wait he said " I was on the phone" ( but he wasn't when we first walked to the counter) we gave our order my wife had chicken burger thing fries and a coffee. I asked for a double cheese burger with bacon and extra lettuce with a toffee latte. The order was done quite quickly to be fair. But, sadly both sets of fries were cold. Both hot drinks were luke warm my cheese burger was cold and despite requesting extra lettuce there was in fact no lettuce at all. my wife's mac chicken was also cold. Absolutely appalling service. We called at the drive through and placed our order. A van went in front of us without placing an order. We were in the line ages. When the van got to the food window he was having a large debate with the staff. Then the staff member returned and handed a large bag and 2 drinks to the van driver. When we got to the food window I was told that my apple pie wouldn’t be long. I explained we hadn’t ordered a pie and that I suspected the van had taken our order. The staff member said he has yes so he knew what he’d done and was trying to fob me off. Fair enough once i explained they said they would remake the order, however they wanted us to park and after already waiting 20 minutes my husband refused. The employee told his manager. We waited another minute or two, then to my surprise the employee gave us our food, with no apology I might add. Then to add insult to injury we get home to find half of our order missing and I was given the wrong chicken burger. I was given a cheaper one. It seems the manager cares more about his drive through queue than customer service. I wouldn’t mind but there was no apology or...

On the plus side the place appeared clean and offered table service. The person who initially served me was polite, helpful and friendly. However when the food came, there was an item missed off our order and when I went up to the counter to tell them, one member of staff was apologetic and helpful, then one member of staff jumped in to scrutinise my receipt followed by another member of staff shouting over 'make sure you check his receipt first!!'. This seemed a bit excessive. While eating we overheard staff members b*tching about customers and other staff members while stood right near the tills. Another helpful member of staff offered to dispose if our rubbish for us as we got up to leave which was nice. All in all I'd say some of the staff members were lovely and helpful, whilst a few (including a supervisor/manager) were completely unprofessional. Secret shopper...
