The Bulls Head — Restaurant in Blaby

shocking service I’ve received tonight from the bulls head (A47) We arrived and after 5 mins of standing there waiting to be seen we had to make a member of staff acknowledge we were there. Took to table and 15mins without even a menu and drinks order being taken. After drinks received another 10mins before we were asked what we would like to order. I asked if the steak came with onion rings to be told no. So ordered side of onion rings. My steak came out with onion rings then my side of onion rings followed. My steak being £20 was not a good steak, fat through a fair bit of it meaning couldn’t eat it all. Not once did a member of staff come over to ask how our food was. Asked to speak to someone when finally a member came at the end of the meal and explained I couldn’t eat all the steak because of the fat. To then have the owner come out raised voice saying I’d called his steak rubbish and that why didn’t I inform someone. I said once someone came over finally I did. And explained we waited 15mins to just even get asked if wanted a drink and given menus. His response was we are busy tonight. They had 5 tables including my table in. so I said you have two front of house staff on and if they are not capable of serving this amount of people why take my booking when I called at 5pm to book a table. His response was I don’t care and pay for the steak or don’t. Utterly shocked that he feels it’s ok to talk to customers that way. Such a shame because I used the pub a fair bit before covid with friends and family. I understand sometimes service can be poor and not meaning the place is always terrible but for the owner to feel they can speak to a customer who isn’t fully happy with their food in that way is a bad reflection...

Absolutely OUT OF THIS WORLD FOOD!!!!!! If this was a reduced menu, goodness only knows what to expect from the full menu! Stopped to just see, have a drink. One quick glance at the menu. We immediately chose to order. The drinks and cocktails, where sublime. We ordered two starters instantly! Within two bites. We knew we would be having Mains too!!! The starters, Pork belly, with a beetroot ketchup. The ketchup is witchcraft!!! My Fiancée doesn't eve like beetroot, but it is so SOO Amazing, We ordered more of it. Its sweet, savoury, Smokey, phenomenal!!!! The Smoked Salmon and bellinis where beautiful. Mains. We had a main course of the pork we had as a starter, in a main portion size. Then the Umami Burger. Oh MY!!!!! I do not EVER order burgers at a restaurant!!!!! This was exceptional, Outrageously good. Quite Possibly the best burger I've ever had!!! Simply mind blowing. I/we, can NOT wait to visit again and VERY Soon!!! The Staff where all amazing. Warm, welcoming, friendly, cheerful, knowledgeable, polite and helpful. Everything you needed and more. The Drinks where a delight, freshly made cocktails to order, wine was beautiful and the draught, sublime. And again. The food was so SOO GOOD!!!! Lucky enough to meet the owner and his daughter. Lovely people, at the top of their game. I CAN NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE HIGHLY ENOUGH!!!!! Truly a hidden Gem! Truly a perfect evening. Perfect food. And Some! We will be returning ASAP and as often as we can. Truly a Phenomenal evening experience. I'd like to thank Tara, his family and staff. Simply flawless evening. Outrageously Good food. Superb drinks and service. See...

Amazing (and not in a sarcastic way)...

Wife and I had been looking forward to trying this place for quite some time, and as today is my birthday we thought it was about time that we did. The Bulls Head did not disappoint.

Upon entering this dog-friendly establishment, we were warmly welcomed by a friendly member of staff, and we ordered our drinks at the bar. The Spring Equinox by Everards was a delightfully crisp yet hoppy beer. One would assume it was created using the citra and mosaic hops.

We took a couple of menus and ordered our food. The wife had the prawn cocktail, and with it costing just 9 British squids, it was a surprise at the quantity and quality. Fresh, perfectly cooked and served with a basket cone of chips on the side. I was slightly envious. Well, that was until I bit into...

Umami Burger... perfectly cooked and held together very well. I've been to some places where you get a burger to grease ratio of about 60/40. This burger had very little in the way of grease, had a lovely smokiness flowing through and the truffle mayonnaise added to the ever growing orgasm in my mouth. The chips that came with it were out of this world, crisp on the outside and fluffy and light on the inside. These are the best chips I've ever had in a pub/resturant.

The staff were very helpful and always kept a smile on their faces. This made me feel most at home.

We can't wait to come back again!!
