We have pre booked a table of 7 for afternoon tea . We arrived to be queuing outside in the rain . All the tables were full of dirty pots . We found our table, again full of dirty pots but did have a reserved sign on for my party . We removed all dirty pots and even wiped the table so we could sit down . while i waited in the queue to say we had arrived. Afternoon did come out but alot later than we had booked for .I had to go to the counter to ask for saucers as our drinks arrived without any , teaspoons and sugar we also missing. Our food arrived again I went to the counter to ask for cutlery, plates , serviettes and hot water that which was missed from our drinks order, then again another trip to the counter due to dirty plates and cups. The afternoon tea was disappointing. The scones came with cream and jam already on no choice was given. The sandwiches well what can I say!. We also ordered 3 bowls of chips that arrived after we had finished eating and at £3.75 per bowl we did expect more than the crispy bits that are at the end if the bag . We asked for more drinks and after waiting 20 mins we had to go and ask again. We we told to go to the counter to pick our cake the choice was nonexistent. We did hear another customer ask for cake from the back, the counter was then restock, this was not offered to us. While the staff were nice, very young and very busy and not enough of them. I do feel they need appropriate leadership. Hasten to say we will not be...

22 September Update: Myself and two others received unusually poor service but the most disturbing part about it is the owner knocks on my door after I left a 2 star facebook review and called me a liar! I tried to tell him what was wrong so he could fix it but he refused to listen, I tried to call others in the company to explain so they could fix it but the phone was taken away, the owner took over the conversation and told me I was barred from the coffee shop and the nursery because he didn't like me. Usually everything about them is very good, maybe this psychotic episode is a one off.

Original Review: Such a shame, the nursery side of things is brilliant and it pains me to write this.

Of the three sandwiches ordered, all were wrong and we had to wait a long time for them even though there were only 2 customers in the whole place when we ordered. None were supposed to be toasted but all three were and they were closer to being dry bread than toast. The cheese was tasteless as was the cake which was given to us in a takeaway bag instead of on a plate.

Unless I see the reviews picking up, I wont be...

Had a breakfast meet up with cousins here today 5 adults 3 children...not to busy on arrival one of our group went to order for everyone but wanted to pay separately, which the girl did not like... But after each order she insisted on doing the drinks which went with that meal so some were cold after a 10 minute wait at the till while she did every order separately even though was asked to bring drinks with the food... Then orders came out at 5 minute intervals with only 2 sets of cutlery so had to ask for more along with sauce, napkins and butter, which was all got for us by a very helpful young lad... After the meal we went to order cake and was told I'm serving another lady who was looking at the menu board at the time and she said, no you go first, but the girl insisted the lady was before me so another 10 minute wait again... The girl serving was very sharp could do with some training... We didn't let it spoil our meet up, but I won't be recommending this cafe & definitely won't be going back... They definitely need more better trained and politer staff... Could be a lovely place if...

Been this afternoon and cafe was not busy.very nice atmoshere and cosy log fire was cracklin away.lovely decor and surroundings.only one member of staff working but she managed to deal with our order very easily.served with a lovely smile and very efficient.cafe appeared very clean and very snug.the quality of our food was top notch and on each ocassion that we have visited before have never been disapointed.the entrance is easily acessed by wheelchair as well as childrens buggies!.there is a very good selection from the menu including gluten free foods.when the sun comes out there is a nice patio area with table and chairs and these seem to be frequented by those out with there dogs as well as the cycling freturnity. There are no toilets in the cafe but there are some 20 yards away, these are shared with the very nice garden centre.

As it was my first trip out out for my bday (and after having a hip replacement) I was a little skeptical at first. I wasn't disappointed! The food was delicious all fresh with the atmosphere cosy due to the log burner being on (in one area). The staff were attentive and lovely. We couldn't ask for more. The access is through the shop, all on flat on one level/no steps, with chairs and tables all spaced well, to accommodate wheelchairs/pushchairs etc with a disabled toilet in easy access. Always worth letting them know if it's afternoon tea or larger groups just incase, at least they'd organize seating arrangement etc. Highly recommend and it'll definitely be in my top 5 places !

Visited morning Tuesday 10th October. Lovely, clean dining area. Nice outdoor area too. Fantastic selection of cakes! Quick service. The staff on that morning were super friendly. Very competitive prices. Easy parking. I believe they do a loyalty card too. Will definitely be revisiting.
