Food was good but the idea that they have anything in place to even attempt social distancing, other than lip service, is a joke. In this pub the track and trace is optional and the fact they have an app to order and have disabled it is nonsensical. I've been to other stone house carverys in covid times as well as other branded (and differently owned) pubs and there is a difference. I won't be going back through covid issues and not because of the food, that was probably the best I've had from here. Whilst there I observed table changes with new people taking seats without any cleaning, that's probably ok if they wash their hands. However, the table was then cleaned with everybody seated, that would of been too close for me, when they were leaning over to wipe, in normal times never mind covid. You need to do better. My response to young vanish...12/8 I know what I saw. Not one of your staff wearing any protection, fine but, what are the chances of not even 1 person wanting to, I'd think low. I assume it's offered? For the app just go to the play store and search stonehouse.... How can you not know, do I really know more about your brand than you - I've never used it but it's available. I'll add a screen shot for you to look at. (I'm getting less surprised by the min) Only 2 people at the bar at once, this wasn't enforced in any way but, how can you really think that a measure like this can work with a pub of your size? Again no practicable measures in place. You are obviously thinking.... Put a control measure in place and we can hide behind that, if they don't do it it's their fault.... Until you know they aren't and you aren't trying to enforce it, at that point you become complicit. You did allow people to sit at a dirty table, I saw people leave and different people arrive and then it was cleaned without ppe or social distancing. I didn't once eat a bit of chicken when I thought it was a chip so I think my eyes are good. Also, chips are smaller than people at the next table, even the cloth used was larger than a chip so I'm confident. Your general attitude to track and trace - if you want to be included...... What about encouraging it rather than, as you are in my opinion, having a dismissive attitude? I actually thought the guidelines required you to ask and not just put signs up..... Thank God EVERYONE reads signs and can definitely read English....... And whilst I'm here..... Again... On the way in you had A4 printed paper signs with a pin at top centre and one BTM centre, the paper was curled so you had to touch it to read it properly. Who knew that would happen. You obviously have zero idea about effectively controlling risks. Your staff are not in a covid safe environment even if you say your customers have a choice and can leave, that's against H+S in it's own right. I suppose if they get covid at work they will be able to get full pay whilst isolating? Personally I'd go for breach of health and safety. I suppose covid, if linked to work, would be covered by RIDDOR, I'll look into that. (Just checked, it is) I think you are shocking and have a generally dismissive attitude. I do have more to say but there's already a picture developing in reviews for your pub so people can read and make up their own mind. Or look through the window, I wouldn't advise going in. Just remember that if we have to close things again, you are part of the problem.

Watch out for the Rats. Visited on a Wednesday evening for a carvery. It was fairly busy but not packed. I ordered a large carvery for abit of extra meat, a regular carvery for the wife and a kids meal for my daughter. Upon visiting the carvery, there was no meat left other than a slither of gammon. The chef then literally scraped the bits of turkey that had been sat around the edge of the carving plate for hours and put it on my plate. I asked if any new meat being brought out to which he replied no (this being 6:15pm). He told me to speak to the manager to get the difference refunded. Then while sitting eating our meal, we watched several RATS linger around the main door (metres from food inside) and on the playground !! This really put us off our food as theyre more than likely around the kitchen entrance too. Toilets were filthy with urine on the floor, one urinal bagged up, dripping in urine. And what looked like someone had spat on the mirror. It didnt look like theyde been cleaned hourly. Staff looked overworked and disinterested. Id hate to visit at peak time on a saturday if its like this on a wednesday. I did complain about the food (or lack of it) and Rats to the manager/supervisor who did apologise and gave us a £20 gift card. We wont however be returning.

Follow Me here and on Instagram: @diggerdazzler Customer Servcie; the service here was speedy and although some of the employees seemed a little lacking in personality. When asking certain questions they seemed to be very mechanical with their smiling and thus cam feel more uncomfortable than if they just expressed their true feelings. ENVIRONMENT: The layout was good and there areas clean and appropriate. There was nothing really noted of concerns or that impacted on this visit. Appropriate for groups and families and perhaps the dog too; book ahead. FOOD: The food here is as expected; we all had the carvery and their was plenty of choice and good portion of meat. The range of vegetables on the carvery eas great and everything was cooked to perfection and was above average from my experience of these chain style carverys. The pudding was a little disappointing on the portion size which didn't really coincide with the price for me. OVERALL/SUMMARY: Great experience but slightly let down by the mechanical smiles of employees. Environmentally the place was clean and felt comfortable and relaxing. Food was a good standard but portion sizes can be disappointing on desserts. 4/5 stars

First time visit to to The Young Vanish despite passing by on numerous occasions. My first impression was that it all looked a bit tired and untidy. Bar full of empty glasses and only one member of staff running around cleaning tables. The layout is a bit strange with the carvery tucked away behind a wall. Menu looked ok with a good choice and the usual offering of mains and burgers that you would expect from a chain pub. Ordered via the app, which was straightforward enough. Halloumi fries for me and the boy chicken bites for the wife. Starters arrived in good time, but they were a bit disappointing. 5 prices of halloumi, each with a honey dip presentation, was non-existent and not even half a tomato as a garnish just 5 fries and dip in a white bowl. Chicken was 3 pieces and a BBQ dip again in a white bowl with no salad. Mains were a phillyy cheese burger and fries for myself, camembert for my wife and the philly steak pizza for the boy. All came out in good time, but the camembert was a little strange. My wife had to collect it from the pass and then go the carvery for her vegetables, bit different but hey she was happy that she could just get the vegetables she wanted. Pizza was a very thin base, not much meat, and the cheese was a cheese sauce, which my son wasn't a fan off as he said, " it just coated your mouth in gloomy cheese". Burger wasn't up to much more, two burger patties, cheese sauce, topped with a hash brown, and a bit of pulled beef on a brioche bun with a side of chip's. Expected it to come with some side of some sort, either salad or slaw but no just burger and chips. Burgers were bland with no seasoning of any sort, and the cheese sauce just meant it slid out the bun as you took ypir first bite. Overall, it was a very underwhelming experience and nit one I'd been keen to repeat...

My Wife and I visited The Young Vanish Today as we have on many occasions. Normally the food and service is great and indeed the lady that served at the bar was very pleasant and friendly. Also the young gentleman that was serving at the carvery was also polite and friendly. Once he had served us our choice of meat he left to return to the kitchen. We moved down the counter and plated up with the selection but when we got to the Cauliflower Cheese (one of our favorite) the tray was empty. We stood patiently for about 3 or 5 mins to see if he returned but we could see he was busy in the back. A young lady, her name we could not get from her badge as it always seemed to be away from us, she was short, glasses , blond hair tied back in a pony tail, she looked like she was in charge of front of house. Anyway she walked past three times and just blanked the fact we was stood waiting. In the end as she came out of the kitchen for a third time I said.... excuse me is there any more Cauliflower Cheese. She stopped and said in a very patronizing way and while saying it turned her back on us to fiddle with something on the Pizza counter. They are doing it now sweetheart and as she then walked off said.. sometimes we just have to be a little bit patient, don't we. Both myself and my wife just stood there with our mouths open and my wife just said... omg wow, how rude. We did have to wait probably another five mins for the Cauliflower Cheese and the young man did pop out to counter a few times and apologized and said sorry it is coming very soon. Which is fine but no need for her to be rude to customers. I did not know if anyone had noticed it was empty, she did not know how long we had been waiting and we only asked as she walked past three times oblivious to us standing patiently waiting...
