Me and my family had booked a table for lunch we came in and were seated promptly. Then our server Derry came over and asked us if we wanted anything to drink she got us our drinks and gave us some time to decide what we wanted to eat. After a little wait Derry came over and took our order, we then waited an hour for our food then had to flag down someone to ask where our food was because someone had not checked back on us and we had empty glasses for half an hour. We then asked Luke where our food was and if we could order some more drinks he said he would sort it out and did neither. At this point Maya who claimed to be the manager came over and told us one of the dishes was missing a part of the dish we then asked why it had taken over an hour at this point for someone to come over and tell us this. Maya then decided to tell us we had not been waiting over an hour we had only been waiting 20 minutes. After we had pointed out that we had we hadn’t been waiting twenty minutes and we had booked as it was all in the system she decided to argue with the table and ignored the questions we asked her instead offering to get us drinks. She then brought over another round of drinks without speaking to us, at no point in any exchange with Maya did she apologise for the wait or for implying that we were lying about the wait time. After a further 10 minutes of waiting 3 of the 4 dishes arrived, we then had to wait 10 minutes for a check back and only the were we able to tell Summer that one of our dishes was missing she then apologised and assured us that she was putting a rush on it. Summer then did a further check back offering us a free dessert and telling us she had taken a drink off our bill. During this Maya did not come back to the table to answer any questions we had asked or give us any update about anything she seemed to be avoiding the table although numerous members of the table had noticed her giving us side glances and dirty looks. We then had to flag done another member of staff to ask for the bill at which point did the actual manager come over and told us that we weren’t paying for the meal and apologised for the wait the service and the overall experience. Apart from when Summer had come over and apologised this was the only time there was acknowledgement that it was the restaurants fault and that wasn’t acceptable. Overall Summer couldn’t apologise enough and tried her best to right every wrong. Her colleagues Derry & Maya seemed to blame us for the wait and avoided us like the plague. Me and my family will not be visiting here again for...
Read moreHaving not been to a Harvester for a few years, receiving an email voucher swayed me to visit Treble Bob with my wife for a lunch meal. Booking through TheFork went fine. Upon arrival there was no one to greet us and we had to wait a few minutes to be welcomed and seated, the pub was at approx. 30% capacity. Full table service was given and we didn't wait long for our order to be taken. I was surprised about having to be lead to the salad bar to have the server use the salad tongues to put salad in my bowl, this wasn't explained very well when I ordered so I was confused. The reason given for doing this was Covid, but there are no other restrictions in place, no screens between tables, no distancing measures, no masks, and I am allowed to touch the self-serve drinks machine that everyone else touches. I think the real reason is stop people overfilling their bowls, which is fine because this reduces potential waste. However, it made me feel like a little child that couldn't be trusted with the salad, I have to ask the server if I wanted to go to the salad bar again, if I've been a good boy :D. The bewildered side of me made comment to the server who responded, with a big 'here we go again' sigh as though it was the millionth times she had, 'we're following guidelines.' Here's me thinking that restrictions have been lifted. I did apologise as my comment wasn't meant to be personal but it was probably taken that way. The staff were polite and pleasant so I have no complaints there. It was good that Original Pepsi is still available on the post-mix unlimited refills, not many places still do that, but mine wasn't at all fizzy. The food was good quality and plentiful. The salad bar was fresh and nice. My classic burger was a good size, lovely and moist, with a good amount of toppings. My wife's BBQ Chicken Stack was perfect, the chicken breast was moist and a good size, the chicken goujons also moist and weren't spicy which is how she likes them, the bacon cooked to perfection and the right amount of sauce to go with it. She was also able to swap out corn for peas. The slaw was slightly different, containing green and red cabbage, but was nice. Our only grumble was that the chips were thin and dry, we struggled to eat them and felt they were a bit of a let down compared to the rest of the meal - I remember nice big fluffy chips in the past, please bring them back. We didn't wait long to pay at the table and no problem using my email voucher. Overall a...
Read moreJust visited Harvester Treble Bob at Barlborough. Whilst being shown to our table my wife slipped on the floor and fell , hurting her wrist and fingers as she tried to stop her fall. The management came to see her and asked if they could fill in an accident report. We agreed , but when the manager came over she asked my wife to fill in the details on a tablet herself. My wife was in pain with her fingers so I thought it was a strange request. She tried to complete it but was struggling so I took over as the manager had left us at this time to fill the form in ourselves. I managed to fill in basic details ie name address etc then the screen froze just as I was about to complete the details regarding the incident . We waited for the manager to return, and when she arrived she took the tablet and said that she could fill in the rest of the details. As the details were witness statement of the occurrence which should of been completed by ourselves the injured party, or at least asked my wife what had happened.Had anything caused the slip and fall? While we were there a cleaning in progress sign appeared near the bar where my wife had slipped. My wife feels very uncomfortable making complaints, but we have both held management positions and are used to completing health and safety accident forms and know the importance of witness statements, so the fact that no questions were asked about the incident is not acceptable. With the manager taking it on herself to fill out the incident report and the very sudden arrival of the cleaning in progress sign, I feel that management were not being professional about the occurrence. The food we ordered was ok but our side order of sweet potato fries were forgotten until I asked where they were. They arrived when we had both nearly finished our meals. No apologies we're made for the lateness of the side order, no offer of a reduced bill. The bill reduction is not an issue but the way in which the health and safety incident report was dealt with is very...
