Waiter was quite abrupt with me when asking me to 'move your dog' when he was taking our order - asked everyone their order - missed me out and said I had ordered when I hadn't even spoken - he was a bit offish / almost argumentative with me and a few of my friends that we was with me - don't know why as I hadn't spoken or placed an order - bizarre -he repeated the order back to us incorrectly - we waited and waited for our food - waiter brought our forks and beverages and asked if we wanted any sauces - we thought the food was coming- probably another 10 minutes passed then 6 lots of food came for the party of 7 - 7th one came once everyone else had eaten. 3 of us ordered the full English but there was no black pudding - unsure if it was swapped for an additional sausage as no explanation given. Egg overdone - bacon was cremated, Hash brown soggy - sausages were delicious sour dough lovely- came with a small pot of beans and a half a cooked tomato - would have expected a little more for £12 - 2 of our party ordered a dab without cheese - but came with. When we paid - the dab that came out late was knocked off the bill which was good but service was poor - we travel past here twice a week at least - and would in future drive to the farm shop cafe 5 mins down the road rather than...
Read moreCame to the café just after opening time at 12 today. When we arrived, I asked for a highchair for my toddler and got pointed in the direction of where they were. As we were the only customers, it would have been nice for this to be brought to us.
The café slowly got more customers, but by no means was busy. After 50 minutes of patiently waiting; and watching other people's food come - we asked where our order was. It hadn't got to the kitchen.
We asked for the chips to be brought out asap so my (by this point) very tired and unwilling toddler could have some. Server came out, with chips; however without an apology for the long wait.
Apology was given when main food arrived, accepted this - however would have been nice if original server apologized.
Not sure why it wasn't noticed that we'd not been served food whilst cafe was so quiet. Accept accidents happen (i.e ticket machine runs out); but general observation should have picked up the error.
No discount offered at til when paying, despite the very long wait. Quite disappointing.
Real shame as food and...
Read moreThe first important thing about "The Drop Off Cafe"- they have the cutest gatekeepers, Ada & Finn- two very friendly and social dogs.
So- but now off to the Cafè itself: The Drop Off Cafè is about 30mins by car north of Manchester, located in Edenfield- in a valley between some smaller mountains. Based in an old stone building it has enough space to accomondate smaller hroups, a patio in the backyard is also available.
It's a family run restaurant, with very friendly staff and great food- i went there for breakfast and was amazed by the freshly prepared food and smoothies. Their menue lists vegetarian and vegan options as well- i think everyone will find something here.
They made the order just perfect for me (Bacon, Eggs, Beans, Sausages, Hash Browns) and their sourdough bread is freshly baked- an english breakfast comes to approx. 12£.
The cafè itself is a bit hidden from the street, it's like a co-working and co-operative space with nice interiour and a lot to explore.
I can highly recommend this Cafè if you are in the area- you'll find lovely people and...
