Well, after a 3yr hiatus from me, and The Cricketers under new ownership/management with a new menu and decor, I think it will be another 3 yrs before I'm back. Was looking forward to a good Sunday Roast with Bottomless add ons. Long wait for drinks when we sat down , then when Sunday Roast arrived, told that Bottomless Roast potatoes, Yorkshire Puddings and gravy had finished because of overwhelming response to advertising - Bad planning ! Only two Trio's( Beef, Pork, Turkey) left when we wanted four, but they had Beef and Pork on their own. Minimal vegetables which were undercooked and Broccolli you wouldn't try to cut with a chainsaw. Eton Mess advertised with fresh strawberries, when it arrived with none and questioned " Sorry, we've run out of Strawberries". The waitresses kept apologising for the lack of the food mentioned above, but overall their attention to guests was very poor. The Bill was disputed, and given a discount due to the circumstances and the complaint. Although the new Manager authorised the Bill discount through one of her staff, she didn't approach us about it, and overall seemed completely disinterested altogether, while remaining talking to customers at the Bar. Overall, a very...
Read moreI should very much like to hear from the Management Team of this pub, regarding my comment....I popped in today for a lunch time meal & drinks to celebrate a friends birthday. Greeted by one lady serving drinks, on seeing the dinning room full, I asked how long wait for meals to be served. She said at least 40 minutes, I said OK how about bar snacks, said the same length of time! She then said only her & one Chef on duty. Every time I have visited this pub, always the same story regarding meals, never enough staff, so have to wait . Turning many disappointed customers like our group of six away. .I just cannot understand why after spending a lot of money refurbishing this pub & making it a lovely place to drink & dine in. They always seem to have staff issues? I have visited here a few times over the past years & always the same story. I have asked friends who live close by and they all agree, don't bother going there to eat!
Yet the pub has signs everywhere, advertising what a wonderful dinning experience you will find here!!
Sorry but we all beg to differ, you are lucky if you actually...
Read moreWe ordered some food via Uber ( restaurant goes as K-Town chicken Row town) and received completely a different order. The delivery bag didn’t have an attached receipt or anything mentioning my order details and my name hence maybe the driver handed the wrong one. We went to the restaurant with the order we received and when we complained about it the kitchen staff ( an Asian guy who worked in the kitchen on the 12th July at 7:45pm) said they cannot take the responsibility and asked us to leave immediately.
Is this the way The Cricketers staff handling their business? That guy asked his customers to leave the restaurant even after we came with the food which we received from that restaurant. It is rude to ask your customers to leave without solving the issue. Where are the manners??? They simply said “not our fault” and that’s it! At least if they’ve attached a receipt then the driver will not face the confusion… Feels so bad about the Cricketers chain because of this...
