(Update below) A great pub. I was very happy with the selection of beers on tap. Decent covid measures in place with an effective one way system and plenty of hand sanitizer dotted around. The staff were nice and friendly as were some the other customers who chatted to us while we were there.

**Update: Located in the quiet Kentish village of Doddington, this is a lovely traditional country pub. We have been back a few times now and we are never disappointed.

A friendly pub with the normal high standards you would expect from any Shepherd Neame pub. The food is very tatsy and the service is equally as good.

Usually, I stop off here when on a bike ride as there is some amazing countryside around here to explore and very little traffic. Will back back...

First visit for my daughters 50th. Lovely old country pub. Good selection of beers and ales. A good choice of stsrters on the menu, not a great many, but nicely done. Chili mango prawns were very good, chicken liver pate looked homemade, garlic breads were very good too. Sunday roasts were a good size and beautifully cooked. We did order extra vegetables . There were several vegetarian choices too. Far too full to order puddings but there was a good selection. The front bar/ dining room is dog friendly always a plus for us. The staff were all very friendly and knew the menu, including the wine menu ,well. We throughly enjoyed out time here. There is a latge garden too so a summer visit...

Vicky and the team did a fantastic job of providing great customer service and making a fun evening of our visit. She made abundant effort to make space for 2 us to dine even when there physically was none available, and followed up with good laughs, great knowledge, and going out of her way to help. On that alone i would highly recommend this pub to everyone, but the food was also delicious too with generous portoin sizes. There is a good selection of drinks and dogs are welcome in the bar side, but not the restaurant side, which i think was a great decison to allow...

I was passing and wanted a snack. Old style country pub. Reasonable atmosphere. Missing a big roaring fire on a wet horrible day. I had a baguette with butter, ham and cheese. Excellent. Real ham from local butcher. Simple great food. Had the banoffee pie was really good. Great caramel with real digestive biscuits. Proper dessert. Lacks something, ambiance but worth a visit. Lovely to see dogs allowed in the bar side but not restaurant. It could really be a GREAT pub.

A very nice country pub and restaurant. Very friendly staff. Good atmosphere. I have popped in after got cough up in a heavy rain during my cycling trip just to use the restroom and get my water supply for my cycling trip. The place looked so cozy that if we would have more time we would stay for some food and drinks. However the staff were very friendly and i could use the restroom and got my new water supply. Highly recommended.y
