The Castle Gardens — Restaurant in Borough of Wyre

Absolute chaos!Whent there for my birthday there where five of us in our group I ordered our meals at the bar and sat down and waited for them to arrive. Half an hour had gone by and we where all getting quite hungry but i thought be patient as long as the food is good I don't mind waiting. Five minutes later a waitress approached here are your desserts she said I looked at her and said that we hadn't our mains yet. Ten minutes later one of the waiters came with two meals a chicken pie so he said that I had ordered and a chicken noodle dish my daughter We sat there waiting for the other three meals to arrive. They where taking that long we started to eat our meals to save them getting cold.The waiter then appeared with the other three meals I'm sorry he said I've given you the lamb pie instead of the chicken as I had already started to eat the veg etc he said he would get another lamb pie for my son-in-law when asked how long it would be he said five minutes, OK we said that's fine. Two minutes later he came back sorry he said it's going to be twenty minutes. Starving we told him not to bother my son-in-law would just have the chicken pie.After finishing our mains the waitress cleared our plates and asked if we had ordered desserts we told her that we had and asked for a coffee with the chocolate pot dessert, she promptly brought the chocolate pot dessert and coffee but no other desserts. I had to go to the bar and tell them. All I can say is that the service is appalling the food disappointing the worst place...

We had a table booked well in advance that turned out to be lock down night. Arrived on time at 6:45 as booked and shown to our table , we were brought some drinks. After browsing our menus we were aware the staff were running around extremely busy as best they could but obviously under staffed. We eventually asked if we could order food as we had been waiting quite a long time to be told sorry we’ve no food left , nothing.. not even chips ! After deciding to to have another drink and make the most of it we were then told they had run out of beer. The staff are long serving considerate conscientious people who deserve more support from their employer. Unfortunately they had to relay this embarrassing message many times to other tables. Shame on you Ember inns for being so aware of running your stock down giving you little wastage after accepting on line bookings you knew you had no food for.. Your staff deserve better support from you , I cannot imagine how depressed they must of felt going home after such an unrewarding shift. Having read some of the reviews i agree and disagree - but lets face up to the facts its a PUB not the savoy or ritz grill nor there prices. Staff not interested - never found that always polite and attentive - in fact one young chap Dominic has served us on numerous occasions and is always bright cheery and helpful so he scores a 10 from Ben. Generally a busy pub with drinkers and eaters - so staff dont have time to stand around chatting - but always efficient. Yes it takes time to get served quickly sometimes but thats volume of customers - Food is Good not fantastic but good for pub grub - its no gastro pub but its not gastro prices either just good honest fair. Prices are fair - odd dish a wee bit over priced but generally for the area - it does what it says on the tin. I for one do read reviews but also make up my own mind - see for myself - recommendations are helpful but each person has differing expectations - for me its a go to place when we want something to eat - yes there are others around - Steak Pubs etc (see no names lol) but there rather expensive for what you get - (suppose they have to pay for the refit and remodeling somehow) - Give the Castle Gardens a go - its...
