We were excited to try here as we only live down the road and heard some positive reviews. Sadly the service and standards weren't up to scratch. The tables, chairs and floor weren't very clean, and the glasses for our water were all dirty.
We'd read a kids menu online that had cheese on toast, with tomato soup, but the menu must have changed as that wasn't an option, just the soup of the day.
The waitress said the soup was potato and turmeric, my wife asked what turmeric was and if it was spicy, the waitress had no idea and made no attempt to find out, I said it's not spicy - for our young children (perfect time for the waitress to tell us the soup was actually a very hot spicy curry soup, not suitable for children whatsoever). My wife raised this issue at the end - as no one came up to ask if everything was ok. The response was lack luster, with no attempt to rectify anything. My wife suggested the tiny kids 'dunker' soup shouldn't be paid for as it was ultimately missold. Their suggestion was to knock off the price of a donut, which was fine.
However one of the staff chirped up sarcasticly "at least you got a free donut". It wasn't our intention to get something free, and we didn't, we ordered and ate the donut with full intention of paying for it, you didn't then give us another free at the end, you discounted the price as an equivalent to the soup.
I expect the staff will respond to this as they seem to do with all negative reviews. All I can say is perhaps it would be best to offer more child friendly food for the kids menu and have all your staff knowledgeable...
Read morefood of choice : No matter if the menu changes, i will Always choose the French Toast option that is always available in the current seasonal menu. Ive tried various versions of the French Toast so far and they have always been a filling option for me. Every French Toast has came with a variety of Berries (Blueberries+Blackberries+Rasberries), along with maple syrup, Bacon and sometimes honeycomb butter [Depending on Menu at the time]. Theres a large variety of drinks and coffees to choose from.
environment: Indoors is a very comfortable cozy seating area with paintings hung upon the wall of various designs, including a few shelves of ingredients to use at home (From the meals in the menu) and some merch. The best place to sit in my opinion is the front window where theres a collection of books and plants. Upstairs has two separate rooms with lovely window lighting.
staff : the staff are friendly and have a well mind of what the food tastes like when asked, which has helped me decide what food is right for me. I believe the kitchen staff are Goblins.

Read moreI went for the 1st time since changed hands (previously only been a couple of times) on Saturday morning, will def be returning! The food combos are fabulous and just reading the menu makes your mouth water! There were 4 of us and we all had different breakfasts from the 9am onwards menu⌠My son has a lactose intolerance and they ensured there was no milk or milk derived products in his mealâŚ.. not a morsel was left by anyone. The drinks were very nice too (my only tiny issue is I personally would have liked a larger coffee or an option to order one) We also ordered banana bread to take away as one in my party said it was to die for, she wasnât wrong. I will definitely be returning & bringing friends, my son and daughter-in-law (who are both big foodies) have been a few times so I know they will be returning too. Well worth a visit, not the cheapest but well worth it and like the saying goes you pay for what you get. Which in this instance was Delicious Food and...
