The Log Cabin Café — Restaurant in Borough of Wyre

At first thought lovely, went this morning at breakfast time, 2 of my kids autistic, my boy 8 sat down and his legs banged against bench, before I could say anything to him woman shouted at him stop banging incase you put your foot through it, then menu options good however my boy only eats certain things, he didn’t want toast just chicken nuggets (yes it’s 10.30am) went to order and the man in kitchen shouted “chicken nuggets it’s breakfast it will be at least 30 mins I am cooking sausages, chicken nuggets” by then I was embarrassed, went to tell my son they had none only breakfast stuff, but he became sad and I knew meltdown was coming, and I thought if they had been nicer I would have tried to speak to him to try something else or wait for the nuggets. By this stage everyone was looking at us, so just got up and said he’s autistic and only eats certain things, she did say sorry. This day and age though places could try and be understanding. Also sign saying no toilet nearest one was elsewhere, thought that was illegal in a sit down serving food place.

Hopefully they might read this and look into things, or state breakfast only served to 11am then I wouldn’t have mentioned the chicken nuggets in the first place. So if they do read this I hope you will understand that attitude and kindness goes along way and that this could have been a much better review, as actually I never usually would do this but it really upset...

I had the misfortune of visiting the Log Cabin with my family for breakfast on Sunday. We have not always received the best of service over the summer but have remained loyal. I will never be crossing their door again. My daughter asked for an egg to be put on her beans on toast, the poor young waitress (who is probably being paid pennies) asked the owner "chef"? and he was extremely rude to her saying if it wasn't on the menu the answer is no. Although egg on toast was on the menu as was beans on toast but he was not prepared to put an egg on the beans ?????? even though I offered to pay extra for the egg, apparently the menu is strictly to be kept to?!. We decided he must not need our custom and left. I spoke to the owner on the way out and queried this ridiculous 'rule' and he was rude, ignorant, uninterested and arrogant. We then went to the Corner Cafe opposite Fleetwood Pier where you can have an egg on your beans on toast with pleasure and any diversion from the menu. This is a much more comfortable cafe, with toilets and a better breakfast whilst being better value for money with very friendly staff. i highly recommend this cafe rather than the ignorant unwelcoming and rude treatment received at the Log Cabin. Wow! What a cafe. We have been staying close by to this cafe, and the past week (nearly every day) we have been coming here for our breakfast/lunch. The staff have always been pleasant, the cook/chef has given us some lovely food whilst we have been visiting fleet wood beach. As a family of 5 we have all enjoyed different types of food on the menu, and the waiting time hasn't been too bad as everything is freshly cooked. The sausage,bacon and eggs baps are really nice, and i highly recommended a breakfast from here. My son is a fussy eater and i requested a sausage instead of the bacon on his small breakfast and this was done without any debate or issues. Highly recommended. Thanks again! We hope to see you again next year.
