Ok so about the fourth time we have eaten here .... Everyone makes mistakes and it's about how you recover the mistake. . 3 drinks ordered 2 out if the 3 were wrong but it was sorted no quibble.... Starters camembert wedges ... The cheese was on the plate under the empty breadcrumb shells ...but tasted ok ... Prawn and mango cocktail was great only suggestion sometimes more is less .... Way too much lettuce...pate was nice but needed more butter casing to use... Mains 8oz sirloin faultless ... Medium exactly as requested ... Kedgeree fishcakes needed more sauce as they were a little dry but size was spot on poached eggs are terrible To do at the best of times but it was ok now .... The belly pork ....3 lots of crackling in total all like rubber bands first pork like a bullet really hard and dry so the was sent back a round of drinks were provided whilst we waited a fresh pork.... Much much better and piping hot ...now Desserts.... Waited 25 is minutes and a very apologetic man said the order has been missed and offered another round of drinks caramel biscuit torte very powdery filling possible a supplier fault just not whipped enough..but other than that tastes ok... Orange blossom creme brulé cracked exactly as it should though it stated biscuits there were a couple of not so nice bendy cookie drops I think they were ....the the masterpiece in the picture ... Black forest in a flower pot .... An edible chocolate flower pot of some of the best sorbet I've tasted ...fantastic ... All in all an ok meal but had much much better there ... All recovered well though

If you're looking for a place to enjoy some great food and a warm atmosphere, The River Wyre Pub is a must-visit. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by Alana and her welcoming team, who made me feel right at home. And the food? Well, let's just say that it was some of the best I've had in a while. I had the pleasure of trying several dishes, including the Steak Pie, Signature Burger, Forestiere Chicken Breast, Pâté, and Slow-Cooked Pork Belly. And I can honestly say that they were all fantastic. The Steak Pie was packed with tender chunks of beef and a rich gravy that was simply delicious. The Signature Burger was juicy and flavorful, with a perfectly cooked patty and all the toppings you could ask for. The Forestiere Chicken Breast was another standout, with tender, succulent chicken and a creamy mushroom sauce that was out of this world. The Pâté was a great starter, with a smooth texture and an earthy flavor that was both delicate and satisfying. And finally, the Slow-Cooked Pork Belly was a real treat, with melt-in-your-mouth meat and a tangy glaze that brought out all the flavors of the dish. Overall, I couldn't recommend The River Wyre Pub enough. Alana and her team were friendly, attentive, and made me feel like a valued guest. And the food? Well, let's just say that I would happily order any of those dishes again. So if you're in the area and looking for a great pub experience, be sure to stop by The River Wyre Pub – you won't be disappointed.

We booked here to celebrate mothers day and for my mother in laws birthday (both on the same day), it's the first time I've been to the River Wyre and I am very impressed by all aspects. The staff were very welcoming, the young waiter who served us was lovely; he had a chat with us, shared a few jokes and was lovely to my 3 young children. The food was wonderful, I had the duck and ate every bit, my 8 year old autistic son even tried and enjoyed it. There was something for everyone on the menu. The staff, upon learning that it was my mother in laws birthday, brought out a little pot of ice cream with a candle in it and they all sang happy birthday to her. We got our puddings to go, and when we went up to the bar to pay, the young man who took our payment was again very lovely and chatty. Every member of staff were wonderful and served us with a smile and couldn't do enough to help, even when the restaurant was full of diners. The manageress was very sweet, she asked if we enjoyed our meals, asked if there was anything else we needed and also avenged for me to have the creme brulee as a takeaway dessert without it being mushed up in the takeaway box. My family will be coming back here again, we all felt very respected and comfortable. There is ample parking and disabled parking available, too. Both the outside and inside are very clean and sanitary, including both the male and female toilets. 10/10, definitely recommend.

Booked for Boxing Day. We booked for 6.15pm as we have a 9 year old. It was honestly very poor. We weren’t asked if we wanted any drinks on arrival - we ordered the drinks at the same time as we ordered the starter “nearly 20 minutes after arrival”. We’d been there 30 minutes before we got a drink, 45 minutes before we got a starter. We then waited 25 minutes between the starters being finished and the main arriving. Again we were only served our drinks order when the main arrived. The 10oz steaks were tiny and Sirloins (not the ribeyes advertised). Having finished the mains it was a young lady who I think picked up on us looking over at the bar who finally asked if we’d like pudding despite it being part of the set menu. Again at this point I ordered another drink. Another mammoth wait for the dessert of around 20 minutes (after we’d already been forgotten about after clearing the mains). As for my drink I had to chase that again after the dessert was served. We ordered 3 x Trio of chocolate puddings, however without any mention from the staff there were only 2 puddings out of the trio on each plate with no profiteroles! In our opinion it was poorly organised and orders were just being forgotten. The fact that every time we chased the drinks they arrived almost instantly suggests they had just been left on the bar. In total we were there 3 hours for 3 courses and 3 rounds of drinks (the 3rd round being just one pint). Ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing and enjoyable family meal and my son was falling asleep at the table. I could maybe be a little more reasonable in my assessment had it been mad busy, but it clearly wasn’t. Won’t be going anywhere near the...

2024...Was 5 stars for everything. Been here quite a few times with friends and family. The staff are amazing, very attentive and pleasant. The food I had the other day was fantastic. A bit pricey I admit but don't mind if the price reflects the quality which it did. My only grumble if anything was the garlic flatbread...a bit hard and chewy. Not going to stop me giving it 5stars though. Kaz our waitress was fabulous. She deserves a Sunday off😊My friend who is Vegan was happy with the options on offer too. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience. Will be back.

UPDATED 2025 Came for a meal for my son's birthday over weekend as haven't been for while and expected the normal high quality food, service etc. Something has certainly changed. Garlic mushrooms for starters for 2 of us...button mushrooms from a tin with a not mixed very well cheese sauce, edible but certainly not great. Main courses...My mum had Salmon fish cakes which were half burnt on both, she left all the burnt bits, my sons steak although he ate it was dry and looked reheated/recooked,, very poor. My steak and cheese pie was inedible, the crust was so hard the knife barely didn't cut even with the watery gravy, taste was bland, needless to say I didn't eat it. Latte's were warm but not hot. The whole place was like a morgue, only 3 staff on and very slow service even though they were pleasant. The guy in charge took my meal off the bill. But it still came to £84. It should have been free. We won't be coming back again. 25yrs of fine dining....what has happened to a once great pub. Huge...
