We arrived around 8pm and it was fairly busy in the restaurant. The seating and decor inside was lovely. Plenty of space for families to visit. We noticed that all the waiting staff were young people which was brilliant to see, however they do not understand the art of customer service yet. We waited 20 minutes to get a menu and we had to ask for a menu ourselves. Once we got our menu we were served by a young lady who wasn't the most experienced in dealing with people. We were disappointed that there were no lamb steaks available so we ordered a couple of extra chicken steaks. The chicken steaks did not come with any peppercorn sauce either. We spoke to a manager who was very friendly, apologised and explained that they will be updating their menus soon, however it was still disappointing. The chicken steaks arrived, they were a decent size, very thin and it was not bad but a little dry. I know you will be updating your menus soon without the peppercorn sauce but if you keep chicken steak then make the peppercorn sauce. The lasagne portion was really small (half a portion) so I was disappointed at that as well for £5.50 considering there are other places in Bradford similar price but give a very good sized portion. All the cutlery we got was not wiped so we spent 2 minutes wiping it ourselves. The waiting staff saw us wipe it and did not offer to get any others. The curries we ordered were decent, but very salty. The curries do take a while to get cooked and that is mentioned on the menu and explained by the manager. It was only near the end of the meal this other young lady served us who was really friendly and answered all our questions. She was the one who made the mocktails so we ordered some more, management let her serve the customers as a waitress full time, she is brilliant. Overall it was disappointing. Management, hope you read this and take into...
Read moreI recently visited Lahori Dhaba and left with mixed feelings.
I ordered the mixed grill and, unfortunately, it didn’t quite hit the mark. The fish was dry and overcooked, the sheekh kebabs were over-spiced and lacked the traditional depth of flavour I was hoping for, and the wings were just okay—again missing any real authenticity while also being slightly overdone.
On a brighter note, the mango lassi was delicious with a lovely flavour, but it was disappointing that it was served at room temperature rather than ice cold, which would have made it much more refreshing.
The highlight of the meal was the lamb karahi—packed with flavour, generous in portion, and cooked beautifully. This dish really stood out and showcased what the kitchen is capable of. The naans were fresh, but heavier than expected; they lacked the light and fluffy texture that makes a good naan special.
It’s hard to reconcile my experience with the restaurant’s high Google rating. Much of the food seemed to lack passion and care, almost as if the kitchen was going through the motions rather than putting pride into the dishes.
On the positive side, the staff were excellent—warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout. Their service really couldn’t be faulted and made the visit more pleasant.
Where the restaurant really let itself down, however, was the state of the toilets. They were in terrible condition—mess on the seats, toilet roll scattered across the floor, no soap available, and generally in need of a deep clean. It left a very poor impression.
Overall, Lahori Dhaba has potential, and the lamb karahi proves that, but inconsistency in food quality, lack of attention to detail, and poor hygiene standards make it hard...
Read moreDear whoever is reading this, I do not recommend to ever park your car nearby. The people who work in this restaurant will be more than okay to see you cry and be helpless! These will are more than okay to lie to you!! Whilst we was eating at a place near Lahori, our parked car got hit by a white car and then left. When we came outside we were devastated, even though Lahori Dhaba had their camera pointed right out our car and the whole incident, not only did they refuse to help us find the vehicle registration of the person who hit our car, they could not even tell us the truth! Lahori Dhaba lied about not having a camera OUTside their restaurant when we can see it with our own eyes??!! We tried to ask cha cha chai for help and they have told us the same thing that Lahori Dhaba own that camera and have access to it but Lahori Dhaba acted so oblivious that it was funny. My mum started crying because no one was helping us when all the restaurants had cameras! The guy from Lahori Dhaba came outside to see how helpless we were, just stood there and watched. Nothing could be done without the vehicle registration number and even though we called the police, people have the right to refuse to show their footage. But just because it’s legal to refuse to help does not mean it is moral or okay. How disgusting it feels to try to come out with your family to eat and have a good time but left with not trusting the the whole area. Absolutely negative atmosphere with animosity absolutely am disgusted their lack of empathy and how well they can lie to our faces. I am writing this so this does not hopefully happen to another family and god forbid, whilst the family is...
