After a cold walk, Millstack cafe was exactly what we needed to warm us up. Arriving quite late on Sunday afternoon we were greeted by very friendly staff who welcomed us and our dog.
Even though we arrived right on last orders for hot food, our four orders were no problem and the service was excellent therein.
The menu is fantastic. Many different offerings catering for all needs and although we didn't manage anything sweet, the selection of homemade cakes looked great.
Our food was delicious. I had the hot beef sandwich and it was superb. A more than generous helping of roast beef and the accompanying "Big Boy" wedges were enough to make me determined to visit again (and soon).
The rest of my party sampled the chicken burger, ham hock with bubble and squeak and the fish goujons. The feedback for these dishes was equally glowing.
We were all extremely impressed with this gem of a cafe and would not hesitate to recommend it. The prices were also excellent, adding great value to the list of positives.
Being dog friendly was the icing on the cake. If you are in the area, make...
Read moreAs a fellow restaurant owner/operator with a rare day off planned for my wife’s birthday, mine and my family’s visit last Sunday was a real pleasure. We were visiting Penistone Hill Country Park to see the Wild Uplands exhibition and when I was searching for a nearby place that would satisfy our fussy autistic 11 year old daughter as well as be dog friendly for a manic 13 month old working cocker spaniel and also have options for my pescatarian wife, I happened to find Millstack through a google search. From the menu alone, it’s clear to see that the two sisters who run here are very passionate about high quality ingredients, provenance and catering for most with good food simply done well. The service was super friendly and attentive, with a steady stream of regulars whom the sisters greeted and checked in with whilst we were there telling you all you needed to know that it’s a place worth visiting if you’re ever nearby. We will definitely be back over from Saltaire at...
Read moreI am beyond disgraced by the extortionately overpriced food I have juat ordered. I've just spent £22.50 on a breakfast and a sausage and mushroom sandwich with a decaf coffee. The food was ok, the coffee tasted like cheap, nasty instant coffee and the portion size was measly. £12 pound plus vat for a breakfast that consisted of two bacon two sausage mushrooms , tomatoes 1 egg and a hash brown is just not worth it. Ive still found myself hungry after the breakfast and I didnt even get any toast with it which I was meant to .
I feel like I've paid London prices for a sub par meal that basically hasn't even tickled the sides. Ive attached the receipt so people can see the prices as they were not clearly displayed...
