Holden Park (widely referred to as Oakworth Park) was once the home of the extraordinary Sir Isaac Holden. The historians amongst you will enjoy his story... After his death the house burnt down & was eventually given to the people of Oakworth by the Holden family. It's quirky affair, labyrinthine paths leading through artificially formed caves accessing the upper areas where the house once stood. It's a delight for children (though great care must be taken with younger children as some of the drops are dangerous.) Read moreStunning expanse of parkland consisting of a war memorial, statues and architecture, a miniature cave system, bowling green, children’s play area, basketball court, a number of large playing fields and a delightful natural woodland with plenty of wildlife and photo opportunities. There’s an abandoned quarry which you cannot enter, but looks suitably spooky, and the further into the park you go the less accessible it is, so not wheelchair friendly.

Read moreOur three-generational, socially-distancing group had a great time here last weekend. Well worth the trips from Keighley and Baildon. The kids loved the caves and the ability to tear around playing hide & seek and whatnot -- though there were some bigger kids tearing around too.
We snacked at the benches, kicked a ball around, had an explore in the woods and everything.
So should we have sent a runner to the Co-op as the best way of getting some...
