Mughals Restaurant and Sweet Centre — Restaurant in Bradford

Went for a meal here having seen it had good reviews on google. I was not disappointed.

Food:

Ordered chicken pakoras for starter and a chicken tikka karahi for my main along with a garlic naan bread and some pilau rice. We also were given a pickle tray shortly after our first drinks arrived.

The pickle tray itself was lovely and came with 4 different types to choose from all of which were very nice and very flavorful catering to a variety of different heat levels. The poppadoms were spot on.

My starter arrived and it was clear that it had been freshly made and was full of flavour and the chicken perfectly cooked, a reshmi kebab was also ordered and was also very nice.

For the main course I asked for my curry to be made slightly on the hotter side as they ask you how you would like it and it came out perfectly. The curry itself had a lovely variety of flavours and came out to the table steaming fresh from the kitchen.

Before we left we decided to buy some mithai as they sell a wide selection. As we didn't know what was what we asked them to choose a selection for us at a very good price and we were not disappointed by how lovely and sweet they were.

Customer Service:

The customer service right from the start was spot on, we didn't have to wait to order new drinks as they simply noticed when ours were empty and asked if we would like another and courses came one after another with good timing. All the staff were extremely friendly.

Facilities:

The restaurant is spread out on two floors and whilst it looks small from the outside, inside it is very large. The only downside to the facilities we noticed throughout the night was the toilets which could have used a little TLC and a mirror in each of the bathrooms.

Decided to stop here for breakfast as was going via Bradford, after watching a youtube video review that recommended it. Overall early impressions were good, the seating areas were nice and presentable, lots of cheerful and polite staff on hand to help. Which from this point, I would say this place shines if you want good customer service. I would say the music was too loud, with the chatter of customers, i would have stuck to something light and on low volume.

Food was OK, not amazing or taste-bud tingling. It didn't live up to expectations, and I wont be returning. Prices are very high for the quantity of food, and it just isn't worth the price. There is better out there. I got one portion of Halva Puri with chana, a portion of Haleem, rotis and a naan with sesame seeds on top. I am grateful to the manager for fixing something dairy free for my daughter to eat so she could be a part of our meal and join in.

Unfortunately though I was completely let down by the fact they couldn't make me a cup of chai without sugar. It was insufferable to say the least, to have had a long drive (with children) to be then faced with breakfast with no good and well needed cup of chai tea. This completely ruined the breakfast for me. They did offer me a cup of kettle tea, but I dislike it, and I came especially to get a pakistani breakfast, I did expect the tea to be there. - I mean what would you do for someone that has diabetes?
