I do not recommend this pub me and my family there was 11 of us went there for my grandmas 74th birthday and we were expecting a lovely meal we had booked in advance so they were expecting us and we got there the staff were lovely and after five minutes they came to take our order it was a bit silly because no one quite knew what was going on but we got ordered and then our starters came 30 minutes later and they were ok I guess not the best and then and hour after that our mains arrived my sisters and mums gammon roasts were inedible and my brother and dad’s burger was awfully burnt and disgusting but my auntie had had a word with the owners husband who then served us the owner/chef came and was nice and got my little brother a chocolate ice cream and added a scoop of vanilla I’m assuming because she knew what was going wrong and then her husband came and ordered our puddings fifteen murmurs after ordering he came and said my mums and brothers crumble were unavailable this point we had been there for three hours trying to have a meal the puddings came around five after coming at two and then my “chocolate cheesecake” came it was like a triangle of cardboard with slopped cream on top not a cheesecake at all after this the owner came and confronted my whole family and my auntie asked if they could talk outside and the owner said she takes it as it comes and my auntie asked for ten percent off all and in a quite a weird way says that’s off the food not the drinks so after being there for four hours we left all of this left my grandma quite upset and on the way out the way out I apologised to the waitress because all of the waitresses were great and she said that this often happens I felt so sorry for them I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant apart from drinks...
Read moreWe visited on a Sunday, we were welcomed like old friends although it was our first visit. There was a choice of 1,2 or 3 courses and a specials board. We opted to share a starter and dessert so 2 courses each. We had the Fish Stew and garlic bread to start. The flavour was exceptional and the accompanying garlic bread was cooked to perfection. This dish wouldn't be out of place on the menu of any fine dining establishment. For main we chose the sharing roast dinner, again this was cooked to perfection. I couldn't single out any one item that stood out, it was all delicious. The staff were very attentive and friendly, ensuring we had enough offering extra. Although well and truly stuffed we decided, with this standard of food so far we just had to attempt dessert. We chose the oat apple crumble, we were told it would take a little bit longer as it would be freshly cooked. This was a relief as it gave us time to digest our lunch making room for dessert. We thoroughly enjoyed the crumble, well worth the wait. Previous to visiting the Ring o Bells we had been to 7 other pub/restaurants, from Howarth, Sowerby Bridge and Bradford and we can honestly say none of them come close to our visit here. All the staff were amazing, the food was, well you HAVE to try it yourself but not too often because we definitely want to go back. Thank you Ring o Bells for an exceptional Sunday...
Read moreVery disappointed with our latest visit, having been impressed on previous visits. Came with husband and two friends on Saturday night. Service was very slow, but it was very busy, so we didn't mind that too much. The menu didn't have a lot of choice so we all went for meals from the specials board. Our friend and I ordered the pork tenderloin, which was served without the fondant potatoes advertised, so we had to ask the staff for them. The pork was dry and quite tasteless and the cabbage was unpleasantly undercooked. My husband's duck was dry and overcooked. My prawn starter was almost too spicy to eat - I really like hot and spicy food, but this was too much for me - and the amount of raw onion totally overwhelmed the prawns. For dessert I chose the Baileys Tiramasu as I just couldn't resist the combination of two of my favourite foods, even though I was full. Unfortunately the dessert was more like a whipped cream coffee in a mug. I couldn't taste the Baileys and it didn't taste at all like any tiramasu I had ever had. We were really surprised at the quality of the food as we had really enjoyed previous meals we had had at the Ring O'Bells. Unfortunately we won't be...
