The New Tyke — Restaurant in Bradford

We would like to give a Massive THANK YOU to the TYKE Brian & Maggie and the staff who was looking after us yesterday 9/3/25 sorry we didn't get all your names. We were let down by another restaurant and my son rang up and asked if it was possible to fit us in describing the circumstances. Was told if we came straight away it would be okay. Well we couldn't have been welcomed more as soon as we arrived they were so attentive and looked after us they actually made Caitlin's birthday special for her which was so lovely of them all. We got the cake back from other venue minus candles and Happy birthday cake badge and they put their own on for her with a sparkly fountain in middle we really appreciated it and sang Happy birthday to Caitlin so she had candles to blow out. What we hadn't realized they had been going to close serving food earlier that afternoon but stayed to look after us they didn't rush us and we all had 3courses. It wasnt until we finished that we noticed all the other customers had gone and only us left that we found out that they had stayed later for us. It was really good value for money too the food was lovely and hot plenty of everything and the girls lovely and helpful cheered us all up and had us all laughing again. Went for a meal here with my Mum and my Grandma this sunday! The staff were fantastic, so kind and friendly. You could tell that everyone was working hard and the place was well run. I had a beer, my Grandma had a gin and tonic, mum had a j2o. We ordered melon for starter, which was such a nice starter, not filling and very delicious. Then it came time for us to get our carvery. There were a range of meats; beef, turkey, pork and ham. There were also mini sausages which i enjoyed very much! The beef was one if the best slabs of meat I have ever seen in my life, it was so well cooked and melted in my mouth. Then we sat down, they brought us a plate of roasties, veg and yorkshires. We were given a gravy boat EACH which is amazing for me as I drown everything in gravy.

At the end of the meal, we payed at the bar and headed off. I realised I'd dropped something very small inside the venue, the staff all helped me look for it which was so kind but unfortunately I didn't find it.

All in all I'd recommend this place 100%. The inside has a great atmosphere and they play 70s music, I enjoy that! Very much felt like I was at a family function. Will definitely be coming again! Thank you, new...

the function room is lovely . lots of space which was important as we had two wheelchair users. the bar staff were great by keeping the beer flowing. food not too bad came out a little late in the evening for my liking ,

the dj was drunk he started drinking at 7pm. his records kept sticking but he was so inebriated he didn't realize. when we asked for tunes to be played he didn't bother hence he spoil t the whole celebration, with the party ending earlier than ANTICIPATED with everyone going off to town.
