We were visiting Haworth for my daughter's birthday and so I chose a place to eat nearby. I went solely on the reviews I read online and was not disappointed. There were 8 of us so I preordered the food a few days before. The reason we chose this place is because it offered a full vegan menu as well as meat dishes and vegetarian. We are a mixture of committed carnivores, vegans and vegetarians so having such a varied choice to suit all tastes and preferences was fantastic. I knew from reading the reviews that the food was going to be good so didn't have any doubts that we were in for a treat. We arrived at about 5.30pm after a soggy afternoon in Haworth and were shown into the dining room which had a log burner providing much needed warmth to our party. Everything was served promptly by our host. Special mention goes for the vegan tempura vegetables with sriracha mayo and the garlic mushrooms in creamy Wensleydale sauce. From the mains, there was a delicious fish pie, the vegetarian Eden Pie with cheesy mash topping and the Steak Guinness and Mushroom plate pie. On the vegan front the burgers and fries were absolutely delicious! A few of us had room for dessert and all of them were wonderful, from the Ginger Sponge and Custard to the Chocolate Brownie with Ice cream. The portions of everything were generous and everyone was very happy with their choice. The ambience of the pub is wonderfully cosy and I think I can join with a lot of the other reviewers and say that The Wuthering Heights inn is an absolute gem of a place. Curious I asked the staff who was working the bar as well as serving us our food why there were so many choices for Vegans as well as Gluten Free dishes, He explained that the people who ran the pub had a friend who was a vegan and they wanted to have a menu that all could enjoy, I asked the staff to pass on our thanks. As we left he said 'Hope to see you again!' The answer to that is 'Oh yes you will, without a shadow of a doubt.' I'll be back at the Wuthering Heights Inn some time to warm myself by the fire or when the days become longer sit outside and watch the sunset like Emily, Charlotte and...
Read moreLiked: This was a return visit for us and we stayed in 'Charlotte'. Nicci and Darren were very helpful with some last minute amendments to our booking. The view from the huts is beautiful and the only noises were the newborn lambs and moorland birds. The huts are fitted out to a very high standard with lots of attention to detail. Clever use of 'drawers' under the bed together with 2 bedside cupboards means there was enough storage space. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of bedding. There was a selection of tea, coffee, biscuits etc provided together with 2 plates, bowls, mugs and glasses plus cutlery and a corkscrew. A sliced loaf and jar of cereal was also supplied in the hut. The multi-fuel stove is fantastically efficient and generates more than enough heat (wood, coal & kindling is all provided). The utility room was well equipped (kettle, microwave, fridge, double toaster, hair dryer, straighteners, shower mats & teatowels plus a drying rack) and had spare plugs for phone charging. There were also some butter portions and individual marmalade pots in the fridge. For campers/glampers, there was a dedicated toilet plus a shower room (which also has a toilet). The shower was very good with plenty of hot water. Given the very wet weather, we found the hut, utility room, shower & toilets very clean. Warm radiators in the communal areas were also very welcome. We had a tasty lunch in the pub & the Friday 'fish deal' is good quality & excellent value! Easy to walk to Top Withens directly from the pub and a few minutes drive gets you to Haworth where there is a well stocked Co-op along with all of the other attractions. There is a substantial flight of steps down to access the huts and campsite which are well lit by motion activated lights when dark. Wifi is provided outside the pub but the signal did not reach down to the huts. Limited mobile signal in the huts but enjoy the peace & quiet!

Read moreLiked: The camping and glamping setup at the Wuthering Heights Inn is idyllic. The two huts Emily and Charlotte are cute, cosy and comfortable with spectacular outlooks across the valley. Lambs and sheep gambol about in the fields below and we had a hedgehog snuffling around at night. The small camp kitchen and bathroom/toilet were clean and well equipped. The bread, spreads, milk and breakfast cereal were an unexpected bonus and the little wood heaters in the two huts looked lovely too though we didn’t need to use them. We loved exploring the local area and stunning attractions by foot. Haworth is an easy 5 minutes by car or 20-30 minutes on foot. The walk to and from Top Withins from the Inn was easy enough to manage within a few hours. The Inn itself is quaint and lively with locals and visitors.
Disliked: Unfortunately we didn’t feel much of a warm and friendly welcome from the hosts. Upon arrival the staff member in charge was barely interested and we needed to repeat particular requests before they were actioned. We made sure to book a table for nine people for a 7pm meal the following evening. Three of our party travelled some distance to join us but as we gathered we were informed that the kitchen wasn’t open as the Inn hosting a music event. We had to find a table for nine at an alternative venue at very short notice and then all drive about 10 miles to it. It was very disappointing but the staff showed little remorse. In fact, none of the staff checked in on us at any stage across the weekend to learn if we were content or otherwise, or to enquire if we...
