Corner Café — Restaurant in Braintree

They had a cardboard sign written in marker pen on the front of the counter asking customers to pay in cash if possible due to problems with the card machine. When I came to pay, however, I was informed that card payment wasn't possible, resulting in my having to leave my rucksack on a table in front of the counter at the cafe, directly in front of the entrance door (no offer from the staff to put it out of sight) while I went to the cash machine at the garage across the road. Awarding one star, therefore, due to the lack of communication and the inconvenience caused.

The food itself was okay enough for this kind of thing, though a bit on the expensive side compared to typical cafes...

Spent a good hour and a bit in this great little cafe in Sible Hedingham today. I had a set No 4 breakfast and that came with a good coffee.

The staff were friendly and efficient and my food was served quickly, was very tasty and good value for the money. I had a second coffee as I felt very comfy in the bustling cafe.

There were several large groups who came in and they were also served quickly as well as a few families. Several groups of bikers came in for coffee and bacon rolls as there is parking at the rear of the premises.

I also had a coffee to go which was made in my take away mug. Nothing was too much trouble and I’d definitely...
