I rarely write reviews but my experience has been so bad that I feel compelled to warn others. The William B used to be a favourite establishment but has drastically gone down hill since the new owner. The service, food quality and detail do not match the increased price point.
Owners dogs running around and barking in the restaurant is not appropriate. The barking startled one of our party who dropped their drink over themselves and had to leave early as they were soaked through.
No steak knives for the steaks.
Some of our table sent food back as it was cold. Food was returned to us with half the dish missing. Parts of the meal missing from others dinners.
No apology from the owner or acknowledgment of the incorrect food. Instead our party were accused of trying to ‘get a free meal’.
When we asked for salt and pepper for the table the owner told us that they don’t provide it as guests over season their food but if we wanted it then someone would be brought over.
Staff arguing, waitress close to tears.
Arrogant and condescending owner. I have worked in restaurants myself and have never been so appalled at the manner in which the owner has behaved.
No wonder the rest of the staff were close to breaking point.
Sadly we shall never return to what was once of our favourite local...
Read moreFirst of all the servers were lovely other than the fact they are under a huge amount of stress thanks to poor ownership/management.
The owner was rude and argumentative and not someone who should own/run a business. he will not accept any kind of criticism which includes the fact it’s unacceptable to have small dogs running in and out of the kitchen when they follow him around the establishment. It’s not only unsanitary it’s unsafe for guests and staff as the random barking can make guests and staff jump causing accidents.
the management also left half way through the evening because he wanted to avoid the negative feedback and left his staff on their own to assist other guests.
His treatment of guest feedback is not acceptable and he shouldn’t get defensive and argumentative.
The Willam B used to be a regular visited restaurant with great food and service. Unfortunately the new management has ruined the experience and will eventually lose his wonderful staff...
Read moreThis restaurant has just moved to different owners. Have been here before and was keen to take my partner with me as was good. Well the service was so slow except for a new waitress named Jackie who was lovely. The starters were great and that’s where it ends. We ordered lamb duo which turned out to be lamb solo as half the dish was missing and no potatoes as ordered. Also ordered the linguine which tasted like spaghetti in water Absolutely no flavour. The new manager came to see us and was apologetic it then had a couldn’t care less attitude. But to top it all when leaving he said I hope you come back we said I hope so too just a shame about the chef. He said he’s amazing and my partner said shame the food wasn’t. He then replied to our amazement “maybe you shouldn’t come back then.” I was absolutely shocked. So do not go here. So disappointed. Also the toilets are like a sauna so if you do decide to brave this bazaar experience where a...
