So annoyed I only discovered this today as it will only be open for two more weekends before shutting for winter until next Easter. What a gorgeous place! Drive down a track and over a railway line to get here and you will be rewarded with tables on decking looking out over a beautiful stretch of river where you may be lucky enough to see a kingfisher. Great choice of homemade produce including vegan or sausage rolls and a good choice of cakes. However, for me the best things were the Thai dishes of the day (one with meat, one without) which change daily and are made by Jaa, the friendly Thai owner. Both were absolutely delicious. Service is friendly, food is OK with accommodation for both vegetarians and vegans. Not particularly cheap but not expensive either. If I was being overly dismissive I'd say that the ambience was a bit middle class, which it is but not pretentiously so. Read moreWe had such a lovely time. A place we wanted to visit for a while now - definitely worth the effort. This sweet little riverside cafe, serving basics such as tea, coffee, cakes sarnies and sausage rolls also offers lovely Thai curries for lunch. You can find this cafe down a bumpy track which takes you over the railway line and along the side of the wonderful Thorpe Marsh Norfolk Wildlife Trust site. Carry on, don't give up! and you will eventually reach the river and the wonderful cafe. Highly recommended. You can also take a little ferry across the river to Whittlingham Country Park if you fancy. Great for children, grannies, dogs and for impressing visitors! ...
