16 July 2021: After getting down the 29 "Tardebigge" locks and mooring up just before the bridge and Queens Head, refreshing drinks and maybe a bite as it was coming on for lunch was certainly the right decision... We walked over and got a table inside as the sun was gloriously hot outside and also there weren't many outdoors tables left. The Queens Head is quite a big spread out indoors and outdoors restaurant and country pub by the canal side but it keeps itself inviting and welcoming and doesn't feel too excessively big... Social distancing was maintained, masks needed on entrance and the staff were friendly, cheerful and attentive. The toilets were very clean, nicely decorated and modern.. The decor inside is a mix of contemporary, soft cosy materials yet keeping the character of the original building itself and do like the wood...it all works as its relaxing and inviting. Outside, the landscaped gardens and seating area offer a very tranquil, picturesque feeling and being right by the canal side on a beautiful sunny day can't get any better... The Tepee is rather quirky especially as the numerous modern art pieces around the area where we were having lunch all had a "hee..haw" Cowboy theme...(it would be interesting to find out what the connection is?) Overall, we enjoyed our lunch baguettes, three rounds of Worcestershire aged cheddar with piccalilli and one of Smoked salmon with pink onions and lemon mayo. The two portions of chips were tasty too...(the only downside to our lunch was the fact that we had to ask for cutlery for our coleslaw sides as well as serviette's and/or napkins)... My pint of the Purity ale was outstanding and even more so as I ordered another a bit later on. Thanks Queens Head for a lovely lunch experience and will recommend you to the canal boaters for sure 👍

Great atmosphere, good food and fantastic staff. We entered the restaurant without booking and the waiter found us a table very swiftly, ehich I thought was excellent given how busy it was for a Monday night. The atmosphere was lovely, we sat near the fireplace and had views of the canal in the background, which was lovely. I ordered the tuna steak and also asked to swap the side elements for the hake sides, which they said was no problem. My partner ordered the portobello mushroom pizza. Given how busy it was, I thought the food came out fairly quickly (25 mins). Unfortunately, there has been a mix up of orders and my partner who is vegetarian received a pizza with meat on it. However, they were excellent at dealing with the situation and swiftly had a new pizza put to her in 5 minutes. The tuna was cooked to perfection and the sesame crust added a great texture and flavour. The roasted new potatoes were nice and the tenderstem brocoli tasted beautiful and was tender. The sauce balanced the dish and enhanced it. My partner's pizza was nice, a good amount of cheese and lots of beautiful portobello mushrooms. The pizza was not as thin as the one they brought out initially, it was more American style and she preferred a thin crispy base. Both dishes could have maybe been enhanced with some fresh herbs. But, other than that, the staff were excellent and very attentive, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the food was good.

We found ourselves here following a visit to the Jinney Ring Centre. To be honest we would have ate there however they have now adopted a No Dogs Allowed policy. A Google search, a quick call and we were here in 10 minutes. It was a good 'shout', all the better as we had no idea of what we were about to find. The car park and bridge approach to the place is unusual, there is a small car park adjacent to the entrance but you would be lucky to get on it. Mid afternoon on a Sunday and it was rammed which is always a good sign. It's a very nicely presented place, trendy with a good atmosphere but for me the staff were exceptional. They bent over backwards to find us a seat with the dog, and we're genuinely friendly and attentive throughout. We really enjoyed our meals, the wife having a Sunday lunch and me unusually opting for a burger. She was more than happy, and I enjoyed mine but I would have liked a few more 'frills' e.g., an onion ring or the option of sweet potato chips. Too full for a dessert. Service charge is added to the bill which I was more than happy to pay.

Had a Fantastic Delitefully cooked Tuna Steak with a very selective amount of vegetables and salad included with our meal. Great service and the staff enjoy there work. A Rare find. The staff were really lovely which makes for a relaxing time out. The place was pretty much packed to capacity with Birthday parties etc. The beautifully decorated interior and lively atmosphere makes for a very happy and relaxed place to enjoy a Sunday meal out or any day out. It was my first visit but my dining partner Angelina had been once maybe twice before. So to cut to the chaise we had a lovely time together enjoying each others company and enjoying your chef's creative dish. We only had a main dish but I did try the salad starter. I should have just had the main because I could not eat all the main meal because of the generous amount of vegetables and salad that came with the Tuna Steak dish. Has far as I am concerned you get your money's worth and the quality of the food is Tip Top. I recommend you try this lovely place at least once because once is not enough and I will be going back another time. A Big Thank you to all the Staff and and your creative Chef for the delicious food we enjoyed. Warm...
