Gardener's Retreat — Restaurant in Burnley

Understaffed, especially at busy times, the service is slow and the food is underwhelming as we had to wait almost three quarters of an hour for our lunch to arrive.

As if that wasn't enough, the restaurant seating areas were dirty with used crockery that was waiting to be collected - they were eventually, but nobody thought to wipe or sanitise the tables. We sat at a wicker table with a glass top, and food particles going back months were embedded in the weave. Honestly it was disgusting. My honest advice? Close the restaurant for a few days and give it a deep clean, because it sorely needs it.

We go here nearly every week for a meal but last week was not that good I always have the fish and chips which is very good but this time the fish was not good and at least half the size it normally is I asked why and told they would ask but was not given a answer till I asked again they said the order was sent wrong why could could they not have told me when I ordered the meal it was not very professional . Service v slow - food only arrived when prompted after 45mins. Jacket potato was barely warm, and cheese served with it was cheap and tasteless.
