Update to owners reply easy fix the initial issue is to make clear on your chalk board outside, 6.45 last order for food. It doesn't say that. You mention it's on social media, should the public have to check all sites before going to you restaurant? no! We went on the spur of the moment. Yes, the staff member was professional, I didn't question that. You could have used your customer service here in your reply, simply acknowledge your sign is wrong. but you went on the attack.Poor judgement Zero custoner service! We went for food at 6.50pm . Sign out side says food till 7pm. Girl behind the bar said "we stop taking orders at 6.45pm", I asked why does the sign say 7pm then? No response give. Very poor service. Bear in mind this is a new business and need to build a reputation, loss of revenue, we spent £95 elsewhere. Change your sign and train your staff please.

We booked a table for 4 on a Friday evening earlier this month to meet up for dinner. The restaurant isn't the easiest to find as the postcode doesn't take you to the marina itself where it's located There's plenty of parking and seats inside and outside. It was a damp evening so everyone was located inside. Our table wasn't quite ready when we arrived but they were quick to get it ready for us. We ordered macaroni cheese and salt and pepper chips, salt and pepper chicken with sticky pigs (miso glazed sausages) plus a couple of the steak meals Food & service was very good The only downside was it was very noisy as they had a lot of people there standing around the bar having a drink and the noise levels made it hard to hear. It would be really nice to be able to sit outside on a warm dry day/evening which would also make the restaurant area a little less busy

Friends have been coming to The Swan & Goose for years (under previous managements) and invited us to go as the new owners recently added vegan options to the menu. The place is lovely and cosy and has a balcony and outdoor seating, perfect to sit in nice weather and soak up the fabulous views over the marina and beyond. We had wild mushrooms in a cream sauce on sourdough and gnocchi with smokey butternut squash sauce, roast squash and toasted hazelnuts. The food was fantastic, we could not fault it, great flavours, perfectly cooked and seasoned. We had a chat with chef Matt who was enthusiastic about cooking his vegan dishes and I cannot wait to see what else is on the menu in the future. We were too full for the vegan chocolate cake though. The staff were lovely too, friendly and helpful, I can understand why our friends love it so much.

The food is absolutely amazing - would highly recommend the small plates, especially the chicken and chorizo bonbons, arancini and salt and pepper chicken. Honorable mention for the pizza and onion rings. The prices are reasonable and staff very pleasant and attentive. The building itself is lovely with beautiful views over the marina and the atmosphere is generally very nice. It's heartening to see the S&G is always busy and I hope they become a mainstay, as they're filling a niche in the area. Only one small complaint - whilst I love dogs and think it is very accommodating considering the location on a walking route, perhaps a note on the sandwich board to say quiet and calm dogs are welcome would improve the ambiance. Unfortunately our visit was slightly marred by a small (but very loud and piercing) yappy dog who wouldn't stop barking and some dogs that had a bit of a scrap near the bar area today. Other than that, I think it's impossible to say a bad word about the S&G and I'd...

Called in as a foursome for lunch, table booked for 12.30. Food is on point, service not so. The setting is undeniably attractive and their small dining area was warm (a little too warm at times) with a beautiful log burning stove in the corner. We all agreed that the food was delicious. However, our ordering somehow got mixed up, one to many cola brought to our table, 4 people 5 drinks? We ordered 2 portions onion rings as sides with our main, only one portion arrived (their loss). Prior to ordering, I did ask the waitress for each couple to pay their own separate bill - that didn’t happen! Worth a mention, they prefer cash payments, having no cash on us we had to pay by card. I don’t know, maybe the waiting staff were having a bad day, and I don’t like to be negative, but I would be lying if I’d said that all went well. However, constructive criticism can help...
