We used to eat at this restaurant nearly every week. Obviously since lockdown this wasnt possible, however, we visited a few months ago as a table for 2, we were put in the built on addition which was cold and there was a large family gathering which had a screaming baby. Iwe decided to give it another chance tonight....wish we hadn't ....there were a table of ladies who had been asked to move to another seating area and when they did they were collared by staff because they hadnt paid their bill!! They explained they were asked to move and bought drinks in another seating area...there was then a staff meeting which we overheard and staff were laughing...another table of 5 complained, not sure about what! Anyway my main course was not brilliant for the price of £15.95....I love to give positive reviews but I spoke to 2 members of staff and was told 'well maybe next time'!!! We were going to have dessert but were never asked and when I pointed this out to a senior member of staff who had obviously been drinking alcohol I was told 'you should have asked for the menu!!!' and with what was witnessed on a supposed 'romantic Saturday night out' we decided to come home after asking the staff to book us a taxi....we stood outside for a good 15 mins and ordered our own taxi as no taxi turned up...I wouldnt even give this place 1 star🙄 We felt patronised...glad you think its funny and enjoy the money we spent!!! 👎👎👎👎👎👎NEVER AGAIN TOTAL DISRESPECT FOR...
Read moreWe asked if there was a vegetarian option and disabled access before booking a table. When we arrived the only way the disabled person could eat was to sit in an entirely different room to the rest of the party on their own. We rejected the suggestion that 4 members of staff could lift the disabled person up the stairs to the eating area as it didn't seem appropriate. While this palaver was going on, I noticed several other things.I had been seated with the back of the chair situated in an aisle where waiters and customers would invariably have to push past. The table was too small to fit all of us round. The small menu consisted, mostly, of chicken breast cooked in various sauces and there were 2 ? choices of vegetarian meals - not sure if there were any more as I was side-tracked by the staff trying to negotiate the wheelchair. The prices were high. One of the waiters seemed quite hostile, I think he was looking for a fight ? Maybe he was upset at the prospect of losing 9 customers ? Maybe he was upset about our eventual attitude ? I think we were quite restrained, in the circumstances. Our evening was ruined. At the time of writing we have received no apology, explanation - not anything. I doubt we will...
Read moreAs regular users of Rapallo we were unsure whether to go this time as on our previous visit the service was terrible, but thought it may have been a one off but unfortunately it wasn’t any better last night. We were seated in the waiting area as we arrived 15 minutes early we didn’t get asked if we wanted a drink while we waited (so 1 bottle of Prosecco sale lost) we were shown to our table but waited another 25 minutes before someone came to take our drinks order (2 bottles of Prosecco sales down) had to ask twice to place our food order, finally got our main course at 9.55 pm. Wasn’t offered the desert menu so(5 dessert profit lost) we asked twice for a cocktail menu but by the time our cocktails came it was after 11.00pm so we only had the one not our usual 2 so (5 cocktail sale down) and to top it all they have now included the service charge onto the bill, is this because service has been that bad they weren’t getting tips. So l think on our bill last night they were at least £120 down on our usual bill and five unhappy regular customers that will not...
