We ordered in advance so there was no messing about with menus on the evening. One of our party was late arriving so we didn't want to sit down until they had arrived but the staff were very relaxed about it and were happy to wait. Read moreVery nice staff, welcoming. Nice location in a quaint village just outside Halifax. The restaurant part was up a few stairs so away from the drinkers. Food was very nice and nicely served. I really enjoyed the turine of vegetables which I could have rated as a full meal on their own. Lovely. It was Christmas faire and so had the Christmas. The good was served hot and we didn't have to wait for others as most meals came together. One lady had to dash off so she was served her meal quickly which was really nice of the staff. The crackers were a nice addition as a season novelty. Tea, coffee and a mince pie was included but there was a slight mix up as both tasted the same. This pub would be a very nice place to go for a meal at any time when visiting, or having a drive out to this...
