The Spring Rock Inn — Restaurant in Calderdale

Had lunch here a few weeks ago and the chips were soft and black.we hadn't eaten all day and ate most just as you would at home if you didn't think it was good.did mention to l presume was a New owner but got fobed off saying she can't get the right potato cos of the weather.l go to about 2 chip shops a week on my rides out as a treat and they all perfect,so don't know why she's a problem.l didn't tell her l was a chef year's ago and worked at the best hotel's in the lake's so know a thing or to about cooking.id have put money on the fact they we're jacket potatoes hence the moisture content that resulted in the being soggie and the black was over cooking in a attempt to crisp them.would have not bother with the bad feedback if she had have been apologetic or even offered to knock the chip's off seeing she was aware they were wrong, even the waitress didn't say, sorry about the chips.l hope they improve their customers care and chip's! Maybe a one off with her supplies but don't charge for something you know isn't right,just deduct the chips and you'll find there's a good chance they Will return.been to eat there many time's before and everything as been fine but didn't recognise her before, hence wondered if it had...

Absolutely abysmal! We waited 1 hour for food, when it arrived it left much to be desired. I ordered a starter fish coujons, I got 4 tiny pieces for £6.75! And, it was cold. I took it back to the bar and asked if that was a normal portion size, one server just glared at me, the other answered 'yes.... unfortunately'. I remarked that I wouldn't be ordering that again as it was a blatant rip off! A few minutes later, what seemed to be the manager, came out and said the chef was making more. She came back after 10 minutes with 4 larger pieces, banged the dish on the table, shot me a filthy look and marched back into the pub! I was sat with 2 others, we all looked at each other and laughed....it was so awful rude! The sandwich looked ok, but the fish and chips was below par to say the least. That, alongside terrible customer service, we won't be going back there again....the staff are downright scary! 😳🤣 Would give minus stars...

Welcoming greeting and readily seated with menus immediately in hand really good. Drink order taken and delivered to table fast. Order for food taken rather slower and then the delay for food service set in. There was no-one else for food service but it stretched to the limit of 32 minutes. The food was superb and congratulations must be awarded to the pub for being able to serve proper french mustard with meat dishes. Generally this was a great pub to visit and eat in - especially after a lengthy hike. The final comment is that the toilets were clean and the whole experience...
