Potentially one of the worst pubs I have ever visited for food in my whole life. We arrived here for sunday lunch for the first time after reading reviews which were mostly positive, we thought that this would be a great place to eat. I arrived late and half of the party arrived on time to which they were very accommodating and held onto the table. I thought this was brilliant although upon arriving, the place was dead which for a Sunday lunch time speaks volumes really. My husband ordered a starter of nachos and children's nachos for the kids which from the time of ordering took 35 minutes to arrive. They had the most ungenerous sprinkling of cheese with a small portion of sour cream. Definitely not worth the price we paid for them. The children received a yogurt dip with their nachos, and no cheese which I find bizarre as that is literally what nachos are made up of. We eat them regardless and waited another hour for our mains. Upon finally receiving our mains, we had ordered one ultimate roast, two regular roast beef dinners, two children's roast dinners, a children's mac & cheese and a adults house stack burger meal. When we ordered the beef dinners, we were asked how we would like our beef to be cooked. The meal was equivalent to the standard of meat you would receive in a microwave sunday dinner meal. It was thinly sliced, fatty and gristly slices of beef. The peas on the meal were dry and hard. The roast potatoes were burnt to a crisp. We physically could not get our forks through them. The stuffing, if you can even call it stuffing was inedible. I can only describe it as a ice cube shape type of dry mush. Again, the yorkshire pudding was burnt and over cooked. The cauliflower cheese was no more than a frozen dish which they had not even attempted to sprouse this up by adding their own cheese or sauce and to top the whole meal off, it was finished of with the most unforgiving drizzle of gravy. We asked the waiter upon bringing the meals if we had some more gravy on the way to which he looked rather confused but regardless he asked how much gravy we would like and fetched us more. Not that this added any flavour to the meal or improved the standard as the gravy as thin and tasteless. We tried to give the meal the benefit of the doubt, you can't judge a book by it's cover and all that but the meal was absolutely inedible. I have never eaten such foul food in my life. I think a meal on death row would be a better option. I spoke to the waiter to explain and he was very apologetic and offered to provide another meal. We politely refused as the next meal would be exactly the same in my opinion. I advised him that I would not be paying any contribution towards the food as it was all left uneaten on the table. He advised he would fetch a manager to speak with us. Imagine being left at your table starving hungry with plates full of inedible food left in front of you for a further 15 minutes. When the manager finally arrived, we again explained that the food was inedible and we would not be paying for it. She went away and came back after again another 15/20 minutes to advise she could take £40 of the total bill. I explained again, that I would not be paying for food that had not been eaten and for food that was inedible. She again, went away, another ten minutes later, came back to say she had totalled the bill to £0. We finally got up and left without an apology or the offer of desserts. Not that we would of took them up on this offer anyway. I don't usually write reviews but please if you are considering visiting here,...
Read moreI went here with my wife for the first time in over a year as the last time we went the service and food were very disappointing. Unfortunately, nothing has improved. The decor is well past its best and the restaurant did not have a welcoming atmosphere. The service was unremarkable / slow. The manageress and waitresses don’t seem to care about customer service and appear to be simply going through the motions. The chips and gammon were undercooked. The egg was over cooked. My partners steak was undercooked. There was very little sauce on her burger and she was given the scrap ends of an onion that you would usually discard. We supposedly had unlimited refills on the coke but after sitting with an empty glass for over 10 minutes I finally attracted the attention of a waitress (who seemed to prioritise polishing forks over serving customers) and I asked her for a refill. She took my order but after waiting another 15 minutes the drink had still not arrived so we gave up. When we got to the till our waitress asked if we wanted the bill and seemed oblivious to the drink I had ordered but never received. When I complained about the refillable coke that was not actually refillable because the order never arrived the waitress didn’t seem at all bothered. When I suggested it should’b removed from the bill she asked the manageress to take it off the bill and explained what happened. The manageress refused to do this but instead charged me for 2 normal cokes and did not acknowledge my presence or offer any apology. In my opinion all of the staff at the Beefeater show little concern for giving their customers a great service. They all need retraining. My advice to Beefeater is you need to send mystery customers to see for yourselves how bad this branch is. Would not go back and will certainly deter others from spending their hard...
Read moreDisappointing Dining Experience at Beefeater Cannock
My recent visit to Beefeater in Cannock for a meal while in the area for work left much to be desired.
The first letdown was the uninspiring draught beer selection, featuring only the usual suspects like Carling, Strongbow, or Peroni, all at inflated prices.
Opting for the Beefeater double stack burger, I was disappointed to find it arrived lukewarm at best. The staff's lack of initiative was glaring as they didn't offer any condiments or cutlery, leaving me to fetch them myself. Adding insult to injury, the condiment selection was subpar, resembling what you'd find in a café, and there were no napkins in sight, a major inconvenience for finger food.
But the biggest disappointment was the quality of the meat. At nearly £17, I expected handmade or similar patties, but what I got was simply premade rubbish. The meat was tough, grisly, and lacked any semblance of quality. It was a far cry from what one would expect for the price.
Throughout the meal, not once did any staff members approach to check if everything was satisfactory, depriving me of the chance to provide direct feedback.
Given the dismal experience, I'd suggest heading across the road to McDonald's for better value. Beefeater seems content with relying on the captive audience from the nearby Premier Inn, evident from the lack of effort in providing a satisfactory dining experience.
In conclusion, Beefeater Cannock's lackluster quality of meat, coupled with high prices and minimal customer engagement, makes it a less than appealing...
