Sapphire Restaurant Hednesford — Restaurant in Cannock Chase

Tried here for the first time. We ordered mains of chicken and lamb tikka, cheese garlic naans, chips. We received a free fish pakora.

The sad: The tikka items were disappointing in both quality and value. Both of us were very disappointed with the chicken and lamb tikka. Cutting into the meat, by appearance, the marinade had not penetrated at all, and it didn't taste as though it had been given enough marinading time. My own tikka is better than this. Consequently there was also very little tikka flavour or succulence to the meat.

Perhaps the kitchen had ran out of pre-marinaded tikka, as we had ordered after 10 o clock. I don't know.

The accompanying yoghurt sauce was also much too sweet to have with the meal.

The meat was also not very generously portioned for the price.

Based on those dishes, we would not order again, it was too late to call and complain at the time.

The good 👍 The naans were delicious tasting and texture perfect, cooked just right, billowy and soft with the right amount of chew.

The free fish pakora was moist, and generously portioned, we actually found it more enjoyable than the mains.

The service and delivery was also excellent. We received a phone call about our delivery and although it being difficult to find, it was prompt and they had no problems finding us. Each person we spoke to was friendly and...

After moving from Birmingham three years ago, we’ve really struggled to find a curry house in Cannock that lives up to the high standards we were used to. We’ve tried several places, but nothing compared to the quality and flavor of the Indian/Bangladeshi food we enjoyed in Birmingham. It honestly put us off ordering curry for almost a year.

The delivery was impressively quick, and the food quality was outstanding. The curry had a rich, thick texture and was packed with flavor.

We had our first takeaway from here last night and it was nothing but DELICIOUS. The best indian takeaway we have tried in the area and will now be definite regulars. The food was piping hot, every dish full of flavour and tasting individual and they added complimentary extras! Even the cabbage salad was a delight.
