Well now I know why they call the ribs riblets. 😐 Did someone else have a go at these first? 🤔🤣 I know times are hard in the hospitality industry right now, but to think they've rolled this item out across most Marston's pubs is shocking. Who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to put ribs that look like this on the menu? (Its the ribs and wings sharer, a double starter portion, labelled as a sharer) It was tasty, just a pity about the lack of meat on the bone! 😕🤦🏻‍♂️

We went looking for a pub lunch after a ride at Cannock chase and found Stags Leap on Google maps. I wish I went to McDonald's instead. I ordered the beef and ale "pie", I wouldn't call it a pie, it was the thinnest pie I've ever eaten at a pub. I'm sure the frozen ones from Tesco would have been better. The burgers looked okay, although I didn't taste them so can't comment. The parking is good so overall a very deserved 2 stars. I wouldn't recommend.

Extremely disappointed with the overall customer service at this venue. I had booked a dining table for 8:30pm, we were meeting some friends, 4 of us in total. Myself and my partner arrived early around 7:50pm. Our friends were going to be around a further 15 minutes. On arrival, we were told the kitchen stopped serving at 8pm. I showed the supervisor our booking and let him know I had a booking for 8:30pm. He preceded to tell me that the kitchen closed at 8pm and therefore we needed to order by this point. We carried on and got a drink in hope that our friends would arrive in time (even though our booking wasn’t till 8:30pm). At 7:55pm, the supervisor (Arron) came across to the table and again repeated that we needed to order within 5 minutes otherwise we wouldn’t be able to eat there. His attitude was appalling, this was not our fault and yet he had absolutely no solution and instead tried to make us look stupid in front of other customers. He even tried to argue with us at the table, saying that we had booked the wrong table online (even though I have a screen shot of the ‘dining’ booking). Just before 8pm I received another email, which stated that our 8:30pm booking had now been cancelled. We left at 8pm and got a refund on our drinks as we were no longer able to eat at your venue, upon leaving Arron continued to be rude, being extremely sarcastic as we left the venue. We met our friends on the car park at 8:05pm, technically we would have been 25 minutes early. However, because we were ‘5 minutes’ after the kitchen closed, you have now lost customers. Customers that will spread a bad word about this venue (in particular...

Awful place, awful food, awful service. Walked in with my daughter today for lunch. Greeted by a pub full of young men and old blokes watching footy getting drunk. Gambling machines, massive TVs showing sports. Restaurant doesn't look too bad though. I asked if it was OK to sit in the restaurant and eat and the barman replied with a sarcastic snort, "Yeah, of course?" Ordered a pizza (reluctantly at £11 as there was no kids pizza option) for my daughter and loaded fries for me. Pizza came and it looked about as sad as a pizza could. Thin, undercooked, very basic sauce and cheese. Basically a few pence worth of ingredients hastily slung together. I received a bowl of Nachos for some reason. Having politely stated that wasn't what I ordered, I then had to wait a further 20 mins for my correct order of loaded fries. Again, this was a meagre portion of hastily slung together cheap ingredients from a can or microwave bag. Meanwhile bar staff are arguing with each other over how to use the till. There did seem to be other people getting table service from smartly dressed staff but we certainly didn't. Not quite sure why others were getting this treatment. Were they special guests? Absolutely no way I would return to this place. Utter garbage in every way and everything that's wrong...

Honestly, don't bother! Booked a table at 4pm, for 14 people, for 7.15pm. Arrived and were seated, everyone chose what they want so we had been seated for a while, and had drinks to the table, before the waiter came over and told us that half the menu was "out of stock". My son had chosen a meal, and two back ups in case one was sold out (steak and ale pie, macaroni cheese, mixed grill), only to be told that ALL OF THEM were not available. As this was a family meal for a special occasion, we grit our teeth and stuck it out. Tried to order using the QR code on the table, added my husband's steak, tried to check out and was told the steak was sold out too, but they still wanted to charge us for it. The only options left were curry (with no rice, because that was sold out too), burger, or pizza. We ended up leaving because it was such a sham. If they knew everything was sold out, why did they accept the booking? Or, at the very least, they should have told the person that made the booking that they were running on a greatly reduced menu. Whilst we understand that menu items are "subject to availability", the "availability" was next to nothing. If you want to go somewhere that you can actually order what you want,...
