Really disappointed with the response by the managers after ordering food labelled as gluten free (marinated chicken kebab). We asked after the food arrived as the wrap didn't seem to be gluten free and then we were told it wasn't gluten free. No gluten free available. Told we could order something else 'what else do you want me to do'. I explained the dangers of mislabelled food and she said she would 'take it under advisement'.. at the end of the evening I checked the menu (pictured) and listened to staff seating a table and they're still misrepresenting this food with a clear allergen risk. Staff did not once ask about allergies. When i spoke with the manager before I left, to explain I didn't think she took it seriously she told me 'I have 20 years experience, I think I know what I'm doing'. I said it can be serious and I thought she was quite rude and the two managers told me 'we are just going round in circles' so I left. Food, overpriced basic pub food, but it's whitstable so this might be quite normal. Service, the waitress' were pleasant enough and helpful but managers were rude and unhelpful.

A pub with amazing views from the terrace looking over the coast and over the sea. Nice food and friendly staff. Sky sports also shown as well

We found this little gem by chance this afternoon and popped in for a family lunch. The staff were so warm and friendly and could not do more for you. Our son loved the play area and made the most of the sun whilst we waited for lunch. We ordered a mixture of things - a sirloin steak, vegan steak burger and vegan nuggets basket meal for our son. Everything was flawless. The portions were gigantic (and I should add that’s the only reason the plates were not cleared!) and extremely good value for money. My husband commented that the vegan steak burger is the nicest burger he has ever had. Add to this there was a phenomenal collection of beer and cider bottled and on tap. The atmosphere was brilliant and though we were having an early lunch, the garden was soon filling up. Really delightful find. We had to head off quite quickly so I didn’t get a chance to thank management personally for such a great visit so thought I’d do the next best thing and leave a much deserved 5* review instead. Looking forward to coming back!

OK so went here with my partner on sat 16 july '22 after a day on Seasalter beach and because its website promised a friendly welcome and great service and food, so we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately we experienced none of this. After ordering a drink from an unsmiling (therefore unfriendly) female bar staff we were told to come back in an hour to order food. I did and our order was taken and about to be tilled up only for a lady (long straw coloured hair) to tell the girl behind the bar not to put it through as we had to wait another 'at least another 15 minutes'. This happened even though people had arrived at the pub AFTER us and been given food! The lady with the long dark hair who clearly works in the restaurant heard me say "We'll go somewhere else" but said nothing to me by way of amelioration. Perhaps it's because we're not locals, I've no idea. But such appalling treatment is indicative of a lack of awareness of basic customer care. I wish I'd read the 1 star reviews before our visit as these are clearly more reflective of our experience. And clearly there are people who have good experiences but this should be the case for everyone. Customer Service shouldn't be hit and miss. The positives? The music was good but too loud even outside which didn't match the setting with good views out to the bay. Cue the sarcastic reply (evident in their responses to other honest, less favourable accounts and a sure sign of further poor customer service) about me being perfect or something or the excuses about it being a little hot or being short-staffed or having too many customers. Neither of which stands up.

What a huge...

Nice place, lovely location, it’s a shame the owners are so rude

The web site says they serve food till 8pm, we called to check before going there and they said last orders for food at 7:45 so we made sure we got there by 7:30. They refused to take our order saying they only had one member of staff in the kitchen…. Annoying but fair enough.

We were meeting some friends there so didn’t want to just go somewhere else, so we went to get fish and chips and ordered drinks from their bar.

Started to eat and drink in the garden which by that point was nearly empty. The owner arrives at the table saying we can’t eat food taken from somewhere else, when he hears my Italian accent he came out with the charming phrase “in this country” we don’t do that…..

We explained the situation fully, but no acknowledgment that what we did was not unreasonable in the situation, no apology for his abrupt and frankly rude attitude towards me. sometimes you just have to admit you were wrong!

We would love to have bought a meal there, your website told us we could, we even called to make sure, and then treated like this Certainly won’t bother...
