Very disappointed

I have been coming to the Dhaka for 17 years and I have never had any issues until now.

The last couple of times we have had issues with the bill, unfortunately the last time we came was a disaster.

On my birthday we got someone else’s bill, we did dispute it at the time, fortunately we had been 2 weeks before and had the same meal, we were refunded.

We reserved a table for last Sunday, this time we were so rushed.

The pickle tray came out, before we had finished it they proceeded to bring out the starter. I asked the server to give us 15 minutes before bringing out the main dish.

The starter was delicious as usual, unfortunately the main course came out within minutes of finishing it.

I reminded the server that we had specifically asked them to wait for 15 minutes before bringing out the main course.

They did take it away and brought it back 15 minutes later, unfortunately they had kept it warm and they had ruined the meal as it tasted burnt. I should have sent it back as it was not pleasant.

We came to pay for the bill, again it was incorrect, I did dispute it at the till and they had charged us an extra £1 for not even a teaspoon of lime pickle, they did take the £1 off the bill, still it was not right but the server was getting agitated and we felt rushed and intimidated that we just paid for it.

When we got home I realised that they had charged us £23.99 for the wine, we had ordered the number 5 wine on the drinks menu which was £21.00.

Cannot recommend Dhaka highly enough! Delicious food served by super friendly and helpful staff at an incredibly reasonable price. Hand on heart, I've just had my all time favourite curry at this restaurant! We had the 'Special' which gave us a popadom and pickles, a choice of starter and main course with either a naan or a rice dish. With two of us dining, there was way more than enough rice and naan to share. The choices were fabulous and extensive but I fancied chickpeas so asked if I could have them added. What a lovely place!

Lots of effort has been put into the Dhakas appearance as we have been regulars for many years and you can see and feel just how much work Jay & his team have put into the place. It looks amazing. The atmosphere is buzzing, and the decor unique, very warm & welcoming!

The food is DELICIOUS! Jay helped us (a table of 11) each select dishes that were just right for each of our tastes. Every dish was fresh, and really tasty! I tried a break from my usual madras and was not disappointed!
