First visit to this café for us, but the experience fell well short of what I'd hoped for as a birthday treat. The place wasn't crowded - there were just four occupied tables when we arrived - but service was substandard: staff committed the cardinal error of first taking the order from customers who arrived after us, and ignoring us until I called her across. Later, I requested a sachet of sweetener for my coffee, only to be told they'd run out, but a helpful fellow-customer pointed out some sachets on another table. Lastly, my wife had ordered poached eggs with smoked salmon and avocado: the salmon failed to appear on the plate but was there on the bill. Rather than leave a bad review I messaged them on fb to give them honest constructive feedback about the food and they never replied... Today we went in just for a takeaway coffee which I must say is still really nice, staff were friendly but it's was completely empty at 10.20am on a Saturday morning.... we used to have to queue outside for a table at that time. So sad to see such a lovely place...
