Update. Visited on a Friday night. Didn't book a table and didnt need to. This visit was so much better than our previous 4 years ago. We did say we wouldn't return but as it had been so long we thought we'd give it another try. Staff polite. Variety of food options. Vegan burger, vegan curry, vegan mushroom and ale pie. Mushroom and ale pie was nice. Chips disappointing though. We all had something with chips and they were basic oven cooked chips which were not crispy at all. They didn't have the vegan torte for dessert which was disappointing. Also I'm not sure if we got the vegan sorbet options correctly from the waitress but! Nevermind. We would return but mainly because we have tesco vouchers. Saturday night and the place was fully booked. We were an early booking and didn't wait long to be served or for our food. Menu was quite varied, a separate vegetarian section. Had the halloumi and chips, chicken with bacon and chips and garden bowl with aubergine. Was happy with the food. I would say the garden bowl is over priced for what it is. Had dessert which was OK. The decor is nice and enough parking. Revisited on a busy Thursday night. The service was absolutely terrible. Maybe the staff were very new (and young) but I shouldn't be making excuses for them. Everything which was bought out from the kitchen seemed to go to the wrong table. The young waiter didn't know what it was he was bringing out. We had to wait ages and drinks order was forgotten. Maybe one of the problems was there seemed to be over 4 people serving us and no communication between them. The young waiter seemed to be starting an argument with another table who weren't happy. Probably because of the same reasons and I don't blame them. The young waiter shouldn't have acted like that, a manager should have been called instead. Couldn't wait to eventually get out of there nearly 3 hours later. Sorry as we had been previously happy with the 1st visit but this time it has put me off returning. Faulty towers sprang to mind!

Fantastic Lunch with Family - Excellent Service from Ellie! We recently visited The Grange Boreham with my wife and father for a lovely lunch, and we were thoroughly impressed! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Ellie, who immediately made us feel welcome and showed us to our table. The gastro pub itself has a charming, authentic atmosphere, and the ample parking made our visit stress-free. The menu offered a great variety of choices, catering to different tastes. We opted for the Cumberland sausage and mash, the cheese toastie, and the coronation chickpea – all of which were absolutely delicious, tasty, and beautifully presented. The coffee was also excellent! We especially appreciated the warmed cups, which added a nice touch. And the cappuccinos were spot on. What truly made our experience exceptional was the service provided by Ellie. She was incredibly charming, took the time to explain the menu in detail, and thoughtfully checked for any allergies. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor really enhanced our meal. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at The Grange Boreham and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delightful meal in a welcoming setting. We will definitely be returning! Thank you, Ellie, and The Grange team!

Lovely pub meal with work colleagues after work. We booked a table in advance. Large car park for parking. It’s two seconds from the a12 and next to Boreham House a beautiful Manor House with a massive pond in front. We arrived and were greeted straight away at the bar. Good selection of drinks and reasonably priced. We were seated quickly whilst we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. Kim was our server. Friendly and kind and ensured we had the correct food and were enjoying our meal. It was my first time visiting Boreham, I will definitely come again. No long wait for the meal. Kim allowed us to split the bill and then some of us to pay cash and some on the card. Lovely food, can’t fault. Would recommend for a meal out. I didn’t see any children. May be more an adults pub / couples rather than families. An added bonus… If you are a blue light card holder you can get 20% off the food (June 22). We didn’t know until the end of the meal. 6 of us ate a main and dessert for £109 with the discount. Drinks were separate. The bill before the discount was £129.

Unfortunately not the greatest experience, Partly my own fault as when the waitress brought over the starter she accidentally put the wrong food down. without batting an eyelid I got stuck in, as to be honest I didn't remember what I had even ordered as the starter I wanted wasn't available, so I just picked something off the menu in haste. Then once we had finished eating it, a rude obnoxious waitress approached the table and said 'did you order that' to which I responded 'I'm not actually sure, sorry have I eaten the wrong thing' she then proceeded to say 'well, did you order chips, did you', her tone was absolutely disgusting and the attitude was not nice. The table next to us had eaten our starter and we had eaten there's. Both the table next to us and ourselves just laughed it off and didn't see the situation as much of an issue. But this didn't stop the rude waitress from continuing to challenge us and make a scene. Fortunately the other staff were very friendly and for the rest of the meal we were served by another member of their team. The food was good and the atmosphere inside the restaurant was lovely. Just a shame this waitress had a bad attitude and was very rude. The manager apologised and made us feel comfortable. But the waitress should rethink the job role she is in, as a customer facing person, she needs an attitude readjustment.

Since writing this review I have received a response From Adam at the Grange via Google reviews. As per his response I have called the Grange and left a message with a member of staff, which included my telephone number. I waited a few days and didn't receive a call, so I called again and left my name and number on an automated message service. And guess what, I have still had no response. I'm guessing bad manners and unprofessionalism filters through from Management to staff. I assume the response to my review was purely to try to make it look like you care about your customers experience.

@Adam at the Grange. Don't bother contacting me 9 days after the incident, I have nothing to say to you that you want to hear. Please note I will however ensure that every person I know will never use the Grange in the future. Please also note I will be reviewing the Grange across a multitude of platforms, and ensuring my family and friends...

Had an absolutely terrible experience here today and will never return. Booked Sunday lunch for 3 pm for 3 people. Online there was a lot of availability so didn't think they could be excessively busy. On arrival had a drink while waiting for table to be cleaned. We were seated fairly quickly and our order was taken. Two roast trios and one meat pie. Trios were ordered with beef well done. It was 55 minutes before the food arrived and the waitress said they were beef. On correction she said they're trios and the other meat was underneath but the crackling was missing. There was 1 small slice of meat and the beef was very pink. As we were starving we decided to eat and leave the meat but at the first mouthful, the meals were cold! Called over the waitress and she took them away to be heated. They were returned and on the first mouthful my daughter had to spit out the contents. There was something in her food that looked like a plaster and smelt strong, like petrol. Pushed our plates aside and called the waitress who looked at the foreign body and took the plate away. She returned saying the chef thought it was the outer skin of a garlic clove, but it certainly didn't look like it. She said she would deduct the meal price but we didn't want to pay for any of the food as we hadn't eaten it. The manager came over who's attitude was unbelievable. He seemed to find this funny. He said he didn't know how the meals were cold as the kitchen is hot! He said the long wait was because they were busy. He then asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu to which I replied, what an sit here for another 3 hours. We left very hungry and just paid for drinks. If a restaurant has a wait of an hour, bookings should not be taken and customers should be told of this The standard and layout of the food was very substandard. A lot of cabbage thrown on, 4 small potatoes. No offer of sauces such as apple or cranberry. And unexplained foreign bodies in food. The entire experience was horrendous. The staff and manager are definitely not customer service trained. I will...

We visited for Breakfast With Santa.

The breakfast menu was good - lots of choice without being overwhelming, and when the food came out it was hot, well presented and delicious.

It was nice to see some dishes beyond the usual English breakfast offerings, and little touches like the smoked hollandaise on the Benedict elevated things.

it was not clear on the menu that you could add items to your order, but the waiting staff were really accommodating when we asked.

The service was a little slower than usual, but completely understandable given we were at a busy event, and the waiting team did an excellent job.

The stand out moment for me came when my 6 year old started crying when her breakfast came out because it had baked beans and they were touching everything.

The waiter didn't even hesitate, was really kind to her, and whisked away her plate to replace it.

The whole event was so well organised, and even though they were busy, we felt neither rushed nor neglected, and it had been well planned.

Our table has crackers and activity sheets on it, and a pre-printed letter to Santa template. Once you had eaten breakfast, you were taken to a quiet area to meet Santa - we were kept informed, once we had finished eating, we were told when it was our turn next.

The Santa meeting was lovely - there is no queue, so you don't feel hurried, and he took the time to have a good chat with the children - importantly for me, there was no talk about naughty/nice.

We were given two gifts, one to unwrap at home, and one to open sooner, and I was impressed with the quality - no plastic tat.

Santa also took the time to mention that he would do his best to bring the presents he had been asked for, but couldn't promise, and would definitely bring something nice for them.

(Just as well as my youngest wants to go and live in Ryan's World for her present!)

Santa also asked if we would like photographs at the end, and we didn't feel rushed at all.

This was our first year at the Breakfast with Santa experience, and we will be booking...
