KFC South Woodham Ferrers - Burnham Road — Restaurant in Chelmsford

I have been here a few times now since it first opened and went Friday evening to get a takeaway. The drive thru was busy as well as inside so they were flat out. There were at least 10+ orders in front of me. I don't mind waiting the 40 minutes that it took as it is to be expected on a Friday night at 7pm. The thing I do have a problem with is that i ordederd a 4 piece colonels meal and ended up getting 4 small boneless strips!. I also got a mighty bucket for one and there was no lid on it and the chips had been put on top of the box, most fell out into the box and bag. Now my order was not large and pretty easy to get right so very disappointed to get strips. The funny thing is that I watched a lady receive her order just before me and the first thing she did was take out everything from the bag and check its all there and correct. The good thing first. The guy at the order window is a breath of fresh air. He is funny and friendly. Sadly he is the only person in the place who hasn’t been sullen and rude. Food, consistently cold and unappealing. Constantly forgetting the simple things like a spork for beans, napkins, salt, sauces etc. As others have mentioned, the waiting time at this particular drive thru seems to be ridiculously long compared to other restaurants. I had to go back to the window to get items that were forgotten and was barked at because they assumed I was an Uber Eats person. Erm no, in fact I was there to rectify your poor customer service. I have no doubt that working here is a soul destroying experience. The managers seemed rude and the staff (apart from order guy) clearly have no interest in serving hot food or even pretending they care. Consider the cost of food at KFC, that all seems pretty unacceptable. If I was the franchisee at this place I would be kicking...

After having a long day with 11 hours of driving and then having to do a night shift and work until 9am the following day I had stopped off at this KFC on 12th December 2023 only to go through the drive through at 10:20pm for my dinner. I had asked for a twister wrap box meal which they said they weren’t doing at the moment and that was all I was told. I then got to work only to discover once I arrived at work and sat down to eat my food that the chicken was pink in all pieces of chicken therefore inedible! I ate the burger bun and the salad and the chips but the rest was thrown away in the bin.

I’m really unhappy about this as I am now unable to get any form of food and after spending a fair bit on my meal I couldn’t even eat it.

Avoid this place if you decide you fancy kfc your best bet is to travel further away and get yourself some chicken that’s able to be eaten without making...
