The Flyer — Restaurant in Chelmsford

After waiting almost 30 minutes for just our starters and watching other people who ordered after us receive their mains we chased up our starters which promptly came out. We ordered the chicken sharer platter and was extremely disappointed with what we received and definitely wasn't worth £8.49.

After having our starters for about 3 minutes, our server then proceeded to bring our mains over to us and ask if we were ready for our mains, my fiancè of course said no and asked that our mains be cooked fresh when we receive them again. When we finally received our mains that we were ready for, it was a huge disappointment it was clear to see that the had been left in the oven to keep warm and mine with no bun had a new piece of cheese put on top again to look fresh, my burger as asked was served with no bun but was also served with no salad and no sauce and my fiancè's burger was just dry and horrible.

After speaking to the manager we got a refund on our mains and an excuse of the chef was new and couldn't cope and the server was also new. I am so disappointed as this is a Greene king pub and I will not...

I’ve been coming to this pub for over 2 years now and the service is usually good and has a great atmosphere. However on this occasion, I was a bit disappointed because there was a confusion with my order when I was asked by the lady if I wanted to buy one get one free with my cheese burger meal, I came alone this evening so I thought she meant if I wanted an extra burger in my burger as it was supposed to be bogof night on Thursday. When my order came, there were two burger meals and that’s when I got a bit confused. I’m not trying to blame anyone as I appreciate all the staff’s hard work and commitment there, I just thought I would share my experience to ensure staff could learn from any mistakes taken place and I would like to apologise for my part in the confusion but I would appreciate if the staff could explain things clearly so I understand as I don’t function enough sometimes and I have mild autism just so you know....

A really great place and a really warm welcome. Staff are really friendly and incredibly efficient and helpful. 10 of us went as a family for Sunday lunch after an event and we couldn’t have chosen a better place to finish our day off. The food was great and came out hot and fast, we all had different meals and they were all perfect, no complaints at all. We sat outside with our dogs and Cerise had our tables all ready which was lovely, we sat straight down. Spent a good few hours eating and drinking and cannot fault any part of it and will definitely be back again very soon.
